Went to this Flanigans location yesterday at around 11pm. I have been to this location before and had a very good experience. Last night they really missed the mark. I was even more disappointed because I was given the unenviable task of choosing where to eat & I picked Flanigans. All Flanagins locations in general used to always be so consistently good, & I’ve been a regular for over a decade. I have probably sat down at a Flanigans restaurant hundreds of times from Miami to West Palm & almost every location in between. Lately however, I have noticed a marked decline in the consistency of the food quality and as a result, we have been picking other options when available. Tijuana Taxi Co has been a late night favorite our group lately as an example, but depending on where we are, there is not always one close by.
Back to our experience last night, the restaurant was busy, but there were plenty of open tables, so we were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. We ordered a Mozz Sticks appetizer, which I did not personally try, but they looked great. For entrees we ordered, 1 chicken philly, 1 steak philly, and 10 wings. A good while after ordering (probably over 12 minutes) the waitress returned to our table and informed us they were out of chicken for the philly and we had to select another option. She left a menu and disappeared. We decided quickly but she did not return for quite a long time, and I was looking for her to flag her down. I was just about to ask a different server or the host stand if they could locate her for us because now it had been at least 30 minutes since we initially ordered and we needed to get going, I was not planning on more than an hour at the restaurant and I was starting to realize this might be a long ordeal. She finally returned and we ordered a dolphin sandwich to replace the chicken philly.
The food came out very quickly after we ordered, which was nice, but, it was not good at all. The wings were cold, and my philly steak was so well done it was dry & almost crispy. The steak was so shrunk and dry it seemed like there was hardly any there. I also had the dirty rice side which was also hardend and not edible- probably just too old- I didn’t touch the rice but ate the philly even tho it was not good. I soaked it in sauce to make it edible. I didn’t say anything about it at the time, even though I definitely should have, but at this point we had been there a while and I had someplace to be so I didn’t want to extend our stay any further. What I suspect is they made the steak philly & the wings at the same time we initially ordered, then they sat for quite a while until the rest of our order was finally rung in.
The waitress did not drop off the food, someone else did, no one returned to ask how our food was. Our waitress did eventually return to fill our drinks and offer us desert.
Overall, I was disappointed in the amount of time it took for them to inform us they were out of chicken, which I also think is pretty unacceptable. How does Flannigans run out of chicken? How long have they been doing this? Shouldn’t they have this figured out by now? Then the amount of time it took the waitress to return to take the order to replace the chicken was unacceptable. Then the food quality was really what completed the ruined overall experience for us.
One of the kids wanted desert which we went ahead & ordered, because I didn’t want to say no even though I was very ready to leave at this point. The desert came out in a reasonable amount of time and I did not try it but it looked good.
Flanigans is more & more becoming a “restaurant of last resort” for us, which is sad because I have had so many great experiences at Flannigan‘s over the years.. But now we will choose other options if they are open. Flanigans being open late & going there after 10PM may be why we are experiencing the decline in food quality, maybe it just isn’t...
Read moreThe problem was the head manager. I believe his name was Ken. I was there with my two granddaughters for dinner. My two granddaughters ages 3 and 11 ordered the chicken nuggets from the children's menu I ordered a burger and fries. Usually on top of the burger it has a little plastic stick to let you know how well done it is. Mine was done medium well I did not see the stick on top of the burger and really didn't think anything about it. I went to cut the burger in half and it seems a little hard cutting it in the center but I was talking to my granddaughters and did not pay much attention I ate a piece of the first Burger and felt something unedible in my mouth. I pulled it out and it was the little plastic mead reader. That was supposed to be on top of the burger I pulled out of my mouth and just continued eating that half of the burger. When I got to the second half of the burger I ate three bites and I felt something sharp in my mouth it was a little chunk of that plastic that was still embedded in the burger. I called the waiter over to show him he took the two plastic pieces to the manager. The manager came over to our table the first thing he said was why is she eating a child's meal I said why shouldn't she she's only 11 years old then he looked at me and said well even though this plastic was in your burger you seem to enjoy it you only got about two bites left. I explained to him what happened but he just laughed it off I could have made a scene but I wasn't in the mood too bad I wasn't in the mood because he would have got a piece of my mind. I was ready to walk out of the restaurant without paying the bill my granddaughter begged me not to do that so I paid the bill gave the waiter a decent tip. He wasn't bad it was the manager who was very cocky and his attitude was very...
Read moreJust got back from my airport. I had the worst experience I ever had coming to a restaurant. The server comes takes our order saying we have to order before the kitchen close we order not even a minute later we try to get her attention. She’s nowhere to be found. We have to wave down the busser to find Our server since we had an other person meeting us there so we wanted to place an order for them. It wasnt even three minutes later and they said they’re not allowed to place any order since The kitchen closes, but we were trying to get attention before it even hit 1 o’clock since we had an other person meeting us there so we wanted to place an order for them. It wasn’t even three minutes later and they said they’re not allowed to place any order since they go on a script rule saying the Wellington Plaza does not let them basically cook food at 1 o’clock, even though it was three minutes after we took our order and a manager comes over saying there’s no way they can possibly make our food since the chef left. How does a chef leave when our food’s not even on the table yet We were spending our money at this location since We started out with two Appetizers we were planning to spend money here now we went to talking tacos and they’re making our food so where does it correlate saying the plaza doesn’t let them serve food at a certain time. manger was at the whole time also just talking when we were tryna wave down for attention too look at the camera and it show proof. Very disappointed in this scenario since I go to the Flannigans on Lake Worth and I always have a great experience. I always spend money and always treat my...
