Fujisan Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Loxahatchee Groves

I have been here many times since opening and during my most recent visit, was pretty upset and annoyed when it came to paying for my meal.

Since this restaurant opened, I have paid with my American Express card, many, many times. Recently, I was told that Amex is no longer accepted. When I advised the waitress to just charge me the extra 3% to use my card, I was told, "I can't accept this payment." I further questioned the waitress asking, "what if that is the only form of payment that I have on me? Are you going to not allow me to pay for my meal and walk away?" She had to response and just looked at me. Again, I asked, "again, if that is the only form of payment I have on me, what are you going to do?" She just stared at me while I awaited her response.

Finally, I broke the silence and shared my annoyance, followed by handing her a different form of payment.

In this day and age and in Wellington, nonetheless, a restaurant is doing themself a serious disservice not accepting Amex as a form of payment. This will ultimately hurt the restaurant in the long term.

4 stars for food, 3 stars for service and timeliness of food preparation, 1 star for not...

I would NEVER go back to this restaurant establishment again. HORRIBLE service. I went with a party of 6 and they brought out our meals 1 by 1 instead of all at once... so by 45 minutes in only 3 of us had their food and the other 3 waited. Then they brought 2 more meals out about 20 or so minutes later and it took about another 20 minutes or so for the last meal to be served. They blamed the wait on the line of to go orders, yet we all put in our orders together and 3 of us were served first. There were other tables that came in after us and left before everyone at our table even had their food. As a consultation, they offered a gift card with a couple dollars on it and said we couldn't use it on our bill. After explaining I would never be back they said it is their policy not to use the gift card on the same visit. Bottom line - the food was mediocre at best and the chicken pad Thai had a foul smell and off taste to it. Definitely NOT worth the visit or the money. We have frequented all of the local sushi places in Wellington and the surrounding community for years, so having a new place open was something we were both excited and hesitant to try. SO GLAD WE DID! My husband and I were joined by two friends and brought our three-year-old daughter to dinner, and it was fantastic! The apps were good and reasonably priced, the sushi rolls were great quality, beautiful presentation and exciting flavor combinations, and the service was impeccable and so kind. I suggest getting the Amazing Roll (it was amazing!) and the Osaka Roll (light and refreshing). They were so kind to our daughter, who enjoyed edamame and some vanilla ice cream, so much so that she gave the server a hug at the end of the meal. Everything came out quickly, the atmosphere was lovely and cleanliness of the table before and during our dinner was meticulously maintained.
