I don't give a lot of 1 star reviews but when I do they deserve em... so where to start... Let's start with the service that was so slow I thought we'd still be sitting there for breakfast when we finally got our food. It took nearly 90 minutes for anything to come out of the kitchen. And don't say you were busy, we were one of 4 tables on the entire restaurant (which should have tipped us off on a Friday night). When the food finally arrived my son's crispy chicken was grilled and the fries were cold. He asked for mayo from the beginning, but then when he reminded the waitress, she took literally another 10 minutes to get his mayo... so he could eat his wrong meal, which he didn't tell me until after, be cause it had already been 90 minutes. My wife's burger never arrived. The waitress told us it was made wrong and would be "just 2 more minutes." But it never came out as we sat there waiting to the 2 hour mark. My firecracker shrimp tacos still had the trails on them, I get it if I ordered the firecracker shrimp by itself, but honestly, when you put it in a taco, TAKE THE DAMN TAILS OFF. Oh and the fries were cold, no salt, and were definitely NOT the garlic truffle fries I ordered. We called the manager over, who apparently was the "chef" as well and she took no ownership, she barely acknowledged anything other than my wife's missing burger and THAT was the only item the took off the check. Despite cold food, wrong food, missing food, food that had gotten cold by the time she showed up, we got barely any vindication for their mistakes. Thank God I don't ever have to come to Lubbock again as I was just passing through, but even if I lived here, you couldn't pay me enough to go back. They should shut down, fire everyone, rebrand and try again..I would give this place negative stars if Google allowed for this... except for the bar tender, the drinks were ok... that...
Read moreShort version: $13.00 burger and fries, that tasted just like a Cysco food/Ben e Keith/affiliated foods frozen product. Don't waste your time or money unless you are staying at the hotel, and you have had enjoyed numerous beers.
Long version: Meh.. I was really hoping for something good about this place. The location is good, the restaurant is clean and updated with relatively modern decor. But, you're here to read about the food so here I shall pray tell.
On a recent burger tour of Lubbock once a week or so...Burger theory came up as I have passed it often on the Marsha Sharp freeway.
I visited about noon on a weekday. It was very quiet with no background music or any of the TV volumes on.. picture awkward silence. One of only three tables occupied at the time in the entire restaurant.
Next, as we sat at a table we were handed menus with dried old food stains. (They were plastic, so a basic bleach whipe would have sufficed) as I begin to read the sticker shock of paying $13 for a burger and fries I thought to myself maybe this is going to be really good.
Sadly when it arrived, the fries were soggy and you could easily tell that they were flash frozen. The burger I got was the Pico de gallo-On the border style burger. It was served medium and was cold. The best part of the burger was the bun which was wheat-ish and buttered.
The poor waitress was all alone as a few more people started coming in and service began to be delayed. Luckily we just asked for one more refill and our checks as we were on a work lunch break.
Let's just say this is on the bottom of the list of the burger trail we have started in Lubbock.
I'm giving two stars out of five, based solely on mere convenience of being connected to a hotel and the beer selection...
Read moreI am sorry, but this ENTIRE hotel lacks leadership and management. The staff is CLUELESS and has virtually no training and ABSOLUTELY NO KNOWLEDGE of any other aspect of the building. I called 10 times, I was trying to book a hotel with a bar and restaurant for New Year's Eve. I got nothing but a voice mailbox from the sales department, multiple times. Then I tried the "Burger Theory" and after 8 rings, they picked up and IMMEDIATELY hung up on me! So.... I picked the option for reservations, I explained to the probably 18 year old male that answered the phone my dilemma with getting in contact with the sales or restaurant staff. He was confused and stuttered and didn't say a word, so I asked him if they served alcohol at the restaurant and if they had any Nrw Years packages. Again with a 30 second pause of silence, and his answer was "I don't know if we serve alcohol at the restaurant, let me check with the bar" I then said, well if you have a bar you gave access to alcohol, do you have a New Year's Eve package? He again, paused and said he would have to check. I am sorry, but a potential revenue building opportunity like New Year's Eve in a town of 250,000 with VERY FEW hotels with bars, should be included in ALL EMPLOYEE training! I should not have to call 10 times and train the staff to take my money, also, how much business do you lose if #1 YOU DON'T EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE, and #2 YOU ARE NOT TRAINED TO DO THE JOB, if you did actually answer? The facilities are good, but obviously training and management is absent or inept so I will spend my money where they are trained in hospitality, not just shoved in place to fill a gap. Also, ANSWER...
