I was here for breakfast two days in a row. The first alone, the second, this morning with my son. We think these guys make some of the best breakfast in Lubbock. Service is a bit spotty, the waitresses tell you their name and to let them know if you need something…but try getting their attention.
As of today their business practices have left me unwilling to return. I ordered breakfast and asked to sub bacon for a slice of ham. This they did without hesitation, but when the bill came they charged for extra bacon. Ok..I get it, so there’s no substitutions…so I ask them to go ahead and serve the ham. They refuse. The waitress went to the back of house and talked to someone and came back apologizing and saying there’s nothing she could do. I paid, tipped (admittedly closer to 9% because trying to get my coffee warmed up was a nightmare that I accomplished only once during the visit) and left for the last time.
Screwing me out of $0.79 was more important to them than my family and I eating breakfast over there every weekend plus.
I thought a while before posting this review because I know the owner is likely to come back with a sob story about rising food costs and difficulties hiring and keeping staff and all those things are true and I feel for restaurant owners and all business owners. It’s rough times, I get it, and you can charge what you must. I will forgive less than great service. I’d give you more than $0.79 if you asked me for it on the street, but I won’t support anyone conducting...
Read moreMy family were used to go there but all ended in trauma because the owner couldn’t acknowledge our puzzlement because I was served breakfast in a tiny side size plate and the owner insisted that was nothing wrong with it. Didn’t apologize and had a bad attitude.
That was the second time my breakfast was served in a desert plate. The food barely could be sliced without something falling out.
The first time we thought it was a kind of funny and they changed to a normal plate. The second (and last) time we wanted to know why that was happening and the owner looked bothered to answer.
I understood he said they served breakfast in a side size plate because they got out of normal dishes.
My husband understood that they offered a side dish size to have more room on the table (?). Both are very weird explanations and the owner didn’t apologize nor was gentle.
We stop going there because of the owner’s attitude - closed minded for the obvious issue and having a bad attitude because he was bothered. He didn’t accept that what happened was unacceptable. He insisted that it was just normal for them!
We were used to go there for years and our point in keep going there was the habit. The owner made us loose our steadiness in going to one place we got used to.
We got shocked with his lack of manners, empathy but especially logic. Very very...
Read moreThought Myself and son would enjoy lunch before I had to go to work but not as planned! We seated ourselves and was given a drink and order taken. 40 minutes go by and other people seated after us were receiving food. I question the waitress and she went to the kitchen to check our order. I explined I had to go to work within the next 15 minutes, she did apologize and i paid for the meal. 10 minutes later she brought the food and stated our ticket was lost and we were waiting for my burger to cook. This is at 12:55 pm the restaurant isn't packed and I have waitressed before and I understand how it can be but at the same time if you know your other customers food is coming out before the others then something is wrong. No urgency while standing and talking to other employees. Arrive to work with cold fries and soggy bread i did eat the 2 patties and lettuce. It will be a very long time before considering returning to...
