Golden Chick — Restaurant in Lubbock

I'm appalled at all the reviews I'm seeing... I'm probably the most picky guy in Lubbock and I've eaten here (ordered food to go) 5 times. All during lunchtime hours... I wish i could give this place a million stars! I watched a specific leader named Michael that was amazing! He was getting the orders out in blazing speed.. He didn't do it alone, he had an amazing team behind him making sure the food was cooking, prepared for the rush. The second I ordered the family Okra, Michael hollered at the cooks " family okra coming up"... Everyone did very well at their position and the owner should be very proud of how well these teammates did! The food was absolutely fresh and hot, customers were being greeted and given their food in amazing time and to be honest, the employees seemed to have a great thing going for them. My only critique that I have, the rolls were complete squished into the bag (bc i ordered extra rolls) and the rolls in the chicken 8 piece were complete squished as well.. I'm not sure if that's how they look or if they were squished by accident. The entire experience, all 5 times; were phenomenal! Before I left, I asked for the guy that was doing soo well and his have was Michael, that's how i know his name for the purposes of this review. I love that y'all give...

I placed an order using GrubHub for fried catfish and drove to the location at the scheduled pickup time. Upon reaching the counter, I asked for my order, the employee asked if it was my personal order. I said yes after which an apology was given that they were unable to fill my order because they were out of catfish. Very disappointed, I asked them to cancel the order to which the reply was they have no control over the order and I would have to do it myself but is there something else they can make for me. Nope, that's the only reason I drove so far out to the location, for catfish!

So, I sat down on a nearby bench to message my experience to Grubhub and have my order cancelled. As I'm doing so, I overhear the cashier reading off entree options to the next customer in line and he stated "catfish", but he didn't say they were out of catfish as I was told. What gives????

First and last visit to Golden Chick. I have no idea what their food tastes like and no longer care...

I remember when this place had a restaurant in lubbock it used to be so good, my family would go to eat there all the time when we saw it was back we were thrilled! Only to be extremely disappointed and wonder what happened, the only thing that was good as we remember was the bread everything else was so disappointing and unappetizing, the chicken was so hard and dry, very rubbery and bland, no seasoning or flavor at all, the mashed potatoes were even worse, tasted extremely powdery and chalky and had absolutely ZERO flavor, not even salt, tasted like I was eating nothing, me and my family were so upset and disappointed, we absolutely loved this restaurant but now we're stuck wondering what happened?? This is not the same golden...
