New review 8-1-2024 Decided to give them another chance. This time everything was amazing. The young girl that was making the coffee did an excellent job, my coffee was on point. Glad that I came back again. I will be coming back. My recommendation is the young girl to make your coffee and not the guy he seem to have this don’t care about the customer type attitude and does not know how to make anything right. I did let the manager know , the manager was doing a great job making sure things were getting done , she’s very helpful and friendly. Other than that guy, everything else is great. Pastries are amazing too.
Old Review from before
Came by today Sunday around 3:15pm. First time been here I was somewhat excited to try it, because I like exploring coffee shop and what is unique about them. The girl took my order , no problem with her everything good, I ask her for a suggestion for pastries and she suggested the blueberry pound cake , I told her lets go ahead do that one, I order the ninety two latte. Now the guy who’s making the drinks is were we have the problem. Worse and I mean WORSE!! coffee barista I’ve seen. Slow as heck, can’t multitask, jumps from doing one thing leaves it half way moves to another thing leave half way, Im sorry for this but he’s incompetent to this type of job, on top of that he has this stuck up attitude. Maybe he needs to be move to a different position. What’s the point of heating up my pastry and let it sit to get cold. Starts on my coffee doesn’t finish it lets it seat there to do something else, then he comes back to heat up the milk and you take it with you the back counter and set it on a cold counter to start working on pastries, so now with have cold milk to put on my coffee. So what I got was a cold coffee, cold pastry. I’m wiling to give it another chance but I will definitely have someone else work on my coffee and pastry. I would say the place is actually...
Read moreIt is popular among Tech students on the weekends. They don’t always get the bread right by over cooking it. The rest of their food offerings are satisfactory. Their “covfefe” ☕️ is consistent. The outdoor seating is highly neglected by the staff which maybe lacking a busser to attend to this/these section(s). The outdoor covering is substantial and its heater temperature are reasonably set and not overbearing. The outdoor framing could be buffered with rubber washers but is mostly unintentionally on windy days and mostly a minor concern. The outdoor seating maintains good visibility. Their merchandise is not cringe. You should come earlier in the day because the baked items sell out quickly. The bathrooms smell great, are always clean, and easy to find. Like every coffee location most of the indoor seats are occupied by non-paying customers but the turnover is quick enough to secure a seat in the transition. They have group tables for multiple-friend synchronized dining. The music is not overwhelming, it’s subtle. Guest WiFi (speed) was not tested on this visit. The order speaker announcement is not (too) quiet when guests are in conversation making it ideal. The menu is on-screen behind the counter and most will find it easy to read. The street facing open closed florescent sign is not utilized effectively during the day and may deters new customers. Most of the tables are balanced. They budget on water cups ounces so your trips to the community water tank may be a deterrent to handicapped and limited mobility customers...
Read moreIf I could give 2.5 stars I would. I didn't have an outright bad experience but I will not ever go back. I was originally excited when I found out that this place was open, because Lubbock has a serious dearth of bakeries, and individually-owned/non-chain restaurants in general. Except then I found out that Ninety-Two is owned by Betenbough Homes, a huge suburban home builder--so much for small business. I decided to keep an open mind though, and try it out. Unfortunately the food was beyond disappointing. I don't think I've ever seen worse looking pastries. Compared to this place, Market Street or HEB's pastries look like they came straight from Paris. Given how bad the pastries looked (for example, the almond croissants had an exorbitant amount of icing on them, which...what? icing does not belong on croissants) I decided to just get sourdough toast. I don't know how toast can be disappointing, but it was. It was barely toasted and the bread was super dense. The hot pepper jam was okay, but not at all "hot". My husband was brave and got a chocolate "croissant" but given the complete lack of lamination, calling it a croissant was a stretch. I also got a cold brew, which was fine, which is why I'm not giving...
