The sandwiches are good but the service is subpar. It is unfortunate that this is the only Jersey Mike’s in Lubbock. The staff I have come in contact with during my two visits are unfriendly and really do not understand the meaning of customer service. I can confidently make that statement as I worked in the food industry for 8 years (2 of which owned and operated a donut shop), customer service skills are number 1. The two times I have been in the store I have been disappointed in the service - this time was bad enough to make me write a review. I’m not a review writer but this is definitely therapeutic for me due to the situation and my need to get this off my chest (I’m not posting the story as it will be very long and this review is already long). I’ve read through many reviews and am relieved I’m not the only one who has had this experience. I fully understand the plight of the fast food employee but you chose this job and there are standards that need to be met to properly do your job and these employees do not recognize that. It is not my fault you do not seem happy with your choice of work, I should not be treated as if I had some impact on your position and am inconveniencing you. Hopefully the owner is not as unabashedly uncaring as their employees and will see a pattern in the reviews about the service as it will in time effect their bottom line. Bottom line: expect a good sandwich but it comes with more than the monetary cost. Keep your head down, walk in...
Read moreJersey Mike's is a gold standard of good food in my household. Unfortunately, when my husband and I visited during lunchtime on the Monday following Christmas, the store was woefully understaffed. There were only 3 or 4 groups when I arrived, but between the backlog of online orders and the clear short-staffing, the employees were struggling to keep up and there were at least 10 people behind us in line when we finally left 20 minutes later, not to mention a roll of online order receipts. Having worked in retail and food business in the past, I recognized this as poor planning on the part of upper management possibly not considering the observed holiday. These employees deserve full staffing to keep up with the lunch rush of in-person groups and the online orders which just seemed to keep coming one on top of the other. To the counter workers, y'all were great under pressure, and I hope your management team will look at this as a lesson to properly staff for rush times on...
Read moreI found one of the workers here to be mean and confrontational. While ordering, a different worker was about to get my order wrong. I wasn’t even going to even say anything, but it had to do with a food allergy, so I asked her to correct the order. Then this other guy shouted at me accusing me of misspeaking when I originally placed the order. Like, who cares, if I say the order is wrong, why pick a fight with me? Makes zero sense. Just cut a new piece of bread and listen to what your customer is saying. He wasn’t even the one putting together my sandwich. Afterward, the worker continued to yell at me again saying I shouldn’t take my mood out on him. Yelling almost at the top of his lungs. I apologized only because I was afraid he was going to physically come at me (he was big guy). Frightening. I’m just trying to order a sandwich and not have an allergic reaction after my lunch. Was this really worth losing a loyal customer and getting...
