You guys are pretty rough with the bad reviews here but sitting here for about 45 minutes I can pretty much tell there are some loose ends. Right in front of me a customer came and asked if her server was coming back because he never did come back and at about the same time another customer came up and asked if he could have his check because of a lengthy wait, really not a good thing if you are on the sidelines and on the fence about this establishment but I apparently came on a good night with the right server.
As you walk in you are greeted with a comforting interior oh, nothing tacky I'm pretty much well thought of. Another thing I noticed was the clientele here seem to be in their 30s to 40s range which is a good thing since you don't have to worry about the younger generation wanted to take over was boisterous languages and drinking binges to look cool.
The price kind of teeters on the medium to little bit on the high side but I am kind of grateful for that since that kind of keeps the lesser count for a more inviting atmosphere of calm clientele that wants to remain here in decent conversation without worrying about loud music and loud people.
Only one thing minor about sitting in the booths here is be prepared to play butt wars with the person behind you. Just be prepared to have your cushion pushed back and forth as if you were trying to jockey for sitting space. It's no fun but that's Booth life.
The food, the salad came to the table and noticed very minimal brown edges around any of the Leafs. It wasn't perfect but it was not bad. The Canbelloni presented a decent sauce with the right amount of spices in it, nothing disappointing there. When the 10-inch pepperoni pizza came to the table, I was aghast to the resemblance of a DiGiorno pizza which is my favorite frozen pizza. After a few bites into the pizza, I realized it was nothing of that since the quality of whatever cheese they use oh, you could be able to tell the difference that it is a little bit higher in mozzarella. The pepperoni that was on it, they do not skimp here, they must have been about three layers of pepperonis. The crust was thin yet very crispy and no burnt bottoms.
Apart from seeing other patrons looking for their servers for checked and not coming back, the experience that we had with Ricky who was our server was nothing short of attentiveness and affirmative that we would have decent service in which he did not disappoint.
It's pretty bad the bad reviews on what they say but gladly enough I did not experience this here therefore definitely will be back will most likely I'm going to visit the other location, see...
Read moreI knew I should've walked out when the first thing on the menu of this ITALIAN restaurant was mafia queso. My daughter and I went here for dinner. The waiter took our drink order and left for 15 minutes and came back to ask if we wanted any starters. We ended up getting the sampler. After a long wait we got our drinks and an even longer wait our starters. They were brought to our table with out the marinara and ranch listed on the menu. Once our waiter returned I asked about this and he promptly went and brought some back to the table in little paper cups like they give out psych meds in. The starters were actually not bad for frozen foods. I'm sure they came from PFG or Sysco. They certainly were not made at the restaurant. I ordered a sandwich and my daughter ordered the half order of cheese ravioli. They brought out my sandwich and then took 10 minutes to bring out her ravioli. This is horrible. A table of 10 should be served at the same time, not to mention a table for 2. One of the two microwaves must if been broken. When I saw my daughter's plate I was embarrassed. It looked so unappetizing. I was grateful I wasn't trying to impress someone by bringing them to this restaurant. If this was a half order I cant imagine who would eat a full order. There were like 20 "Sam's Club" ravioli on a plate designed to hold 5. Then they packed on the canned, bland sauce until it was flowing over the edge. It looked so horrible. Close your eyes and imagine an Italian theme night and the crappiest nursing home for hated step Moms. This is what would be served. As bad as my daughter's plate looked, it was not as bad as I felt by the time the ticket was paid. Thank God our hotel was near. For everyone's sake, suffice it to say, I may owe the hotel for some plumbing repairs. Overall this was a bad experience. The food was somewhere between canned food and frozen food. My first instinct was to not leave a bad review as restaurants of this quality usually close or are forced to close but my daughter read on Yelp that the owner was bragging about being opened for 50 years. If this is true, something has changed because I can promise that you will not be opened for much longer based on...
Read moreWent to Orlando's on Avenue Q last night. We order Mafia queso and it comes out with just chips. The waiter (Connor S) disappears. About halfway through the mafia queso he comes back and I ask doesn't it come with bread and he says yes. He takes our order. When he returns with our salads and Wisconsin cheddar soup, again, there is no bread. I asked him doesn't it come with bread? And he says yes. I wait to eat my soup with my bread. 3 or 4 minutes later the bread comes. The bread is delicious. The soup is awful. It is so watered down and thin with just a little bit of flavor. Not like it used to be over the years. After 4 or 5 spoonfuls I don't even eat anymore. Waste of money.
Our meal comes for 4 out of 5 of us with a pizza is coming out...soon. I looked at my phone for the time. 7 minutes later the pizza comes out. I was taught to never start eating until everyone has their food. The food is getting cold because someone in the kitchen doesn't know proper rules for everybody getting their food at the same time. I will say I found a new favorite in the dish that I got as it was fantastic. The chicken alfredo pesto linguine was out of this world. My wife's green chili linguine was excellent. My son enjoyed his meal as well as the rest of our table. After our food was delivered, I never saw our waiter again. Other waiters were coming and going everywhere. We needed to place an order to go. We waited and waited and waited. I looked at several of the other wait staff and they just looked right back at me. Finally, I went up to the bar and waited for someone to show up as there was no one present for a good 2 minutes. Finally I find a different waiter in place a to-go order with him because mine is MIA.
The prices are decent. And the food is good assuming that it's not cold. I recommend you never get the Wisconsin Cheddar soup. Don't waste your time or your money. And I'll add, don't waste your time going to the avenue Q location. Go to the Indiana avenue location. I'll never be back to...
