Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Lufkin

My third time to eat here in the span of 2 years. Was so excited when i heard a Newk's was coming here after researching it. The food looked delicious and all the reviews foretold of delicious fare. The first visit was exciting but it happened so fast and was a but confusing. That is all I remember. My 2cd go was a few months ago. The food quality is excellent. Unfortunately the Grilled Steak was cold and flacid. The bread chewy and hard. The Greek salad had no taste. And recently my third trip. The woman at the register was nice and helpful. The manager or assistant manager was a little rude. Didn'greet us much less even acknowledge myself and my guest. In fact the girl taking our order looked to him for help describing thier pizza he completely ignored her and rudely took over the registers printing a report i guess. He was no help at all. Now i had a coke my friend had tea or rather what was left of it. We picked up the container and tipped it on its side to pour out some to drink. Again the food was cold Margherita Pizza with Shrimp and Sausage w/ Pepperoni. The only saving grace was the girl at the register and the young man cleaning the floor. They were awesome. If i had to work their my attitude would probably suck but those two were all smiles, friendly and helpful. They deserve a raise and recognition. It cant be easy to work with so many unhappy people. If not for them I would have not even bothered...

Arrived at lunch time with only one person taking orders. Placed order with dressing on side and add chicken. Requested side pickles was told to "ask them over there". Be hold salad arrived with same girl checking also brings food out to tables. Dressing on salad and behold no chicken. Informed waitress order was wrong, she informed me we didn't order it that way and did not even offer to correct order basically walked away. She came back around and asked her to correct order she told me "take it over there". Carried salad "over there", I have customers (what are we chop liver), carried it over there spoke with lady that was going to correct order. Then several minutes later manger "Chelsea" came over no salad in hand and proceeded to tell us we didn't pay for chicken. At that point we asked for refund and left. I've eaten here before and the place is clean and nice. Food is decent. My issue today is whoever is managing the UberEats side of things needs to get reclassed. Spent 45 mins trying to order with them and they kept not-accepting the order. I guess they don't like money? I confirmed this by contacting Newk's asking why my order was cancelled, contacting them again after I reordered to confirm if the order went through, and then contacting UberEats to see the details on their end. After the staff there told me they didn't see my order and UberEats said the restaraunt didn't accept my order, I ordered from McAlister's instead.
