Kami Authentic Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Lumberton

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kami's and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I ordered their chicken teriyaki with broccoli, and it exceeded my expectations in terms of taste and quality.

The chicken teriyaki was cooked to perfection, with tender and juicy pieces of chicken smothered in a flavorful teriyaki sauce. The balance of sweet and savory flavors was spot-on, making each bite a true delight. The addition of broccoli and sweet carrots added a fresh and healthy element to the dish, perfectly complementing the chicken.

Aside from the delicious food, I also had a great drive-thru experience at Kami's. The service was prompt and efficient, and the staff members were friendly and attentive. Great, the waitresses are so friendly. Edit August 2024. Ordered 2 plates steak and chicken. Got home (40 minutes away) and find a live fly in one of the plates, I throw it away obviously. I call but they closed 10 minutes prior to my call. So I call the next day while in town and explain what I experienced. I had the receipt and everything and even spoke to the owner at the front door before I got my food the previous night and explained that i was the last car and told this to the lady on the phone, (Manager). She told me I was mistaken and the owner wasn't there when I clearly spoke to and saw him. Needless to say she offered no refund or another plate. The fact she basically called me a liar and offered no recourse causes a loss of my business however miniscule, forever. I've been eating at this building since it was taco bell and this is the treatment I get? Thanks alot KAMI JAPANESE RESTAURANT OF LUMBERTON NC FOR NOTHING. I HOPE ANYONE THAT PLANS TO EAT HERE SEES THIS AND DOES NOT. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU CONDUCT BUSINESS ESPECIALLY WITH LOYAL CUSTOMERS. BUT THATS THE WORLD THESE DAYS...NO ONE...

Great teriyaki bowl. Meat seasoned and cooked well (not too dry). Tasty on its own or with the sauces they bring to the table. Salad was ok (personally not a fan of iceberg lettuce) and the ginger dressing that came with it was good. They had bottled Ramune (Japanese Soda with the marble in it) which is actually Japanese.

If you are thinking teriyaki bowl, then this is your place. Outside of that you aren't going to find too much Japanese cuisine. The dish came with honey steamed carrots which is not authentic japanese and clashes with the food.

The inside still looks like the Taco Bell that they took over who knows how long ago. They had a lovely Christmas tree up for the season, but outside of that the decor is kinda random and doesn't really make it feel any more like a...
