Only giving 1 star because I had to in order to leave my review. WORST FOOD I'VE EVER HAD AT ANY RESTAURANT!!! The place was not too busy, but waiter acted like it was packed, not too attentive after serving. I ordered the Fajita Taco Salad Trio. 1st, the shell was overcooked, the refried beans on bottom of shell were cold and thinned (& it was in a hot salad plate) the lettuce was limp, 5 half inch pieces of diced tomato, dollop of sour cream, dollop of guacamole, 4 pieces of beef the size of small elbow macaroni, 4 tiny (tiny) shrimp, I never did find the chicken. WHAT I DID FIND...as I bit down was an inch size piece of oyster shell!! About broke my tooth out, it did feel chipped a little. Told our waiter(very young guy) he in turn told another guy who immediately started gathering up my dishes and mumbling in Spanish. I asked him how it got in there, he said must have been in shrimp. (Well maybe, but why was it in my salad since there were only 4 shrimp?) Ok...I fully expected to pay when I entered and ordered, even then..but he says, no, no. I ordered a tea to-go which I never received...ha! Then my bill came! They charged for 1 tea with meal, 1 tea to-go, and a serving (if u call it that) of Verde salsa, approx 1 1/2 tbsp of watered down salsa. So when I got to front to pay, I asked for to-go tea...the extremely, agitated and RUDE manager started questioning me about what I ate, etc. So I go thru the whole story and he's calling over the guy who said I shouldn't pay and really giving him a hard time in Spanish. Then waiter shows up and goes over ticket and seems to hang on the part of the Verde salsa I asked for(never giving a care about the to-go tea I ordered and don't have). I asked since when they should charge for watered down tbsp of Verde salsa...and the manager exploded...saying just forget it, go,go. Then starts talking about me to those checking out after, not knowing they were in my party. Saying "I have to pay for tomatoes and ingredients of menu items, they are not free to me!" Blah,blah,blah.....well needless to say I will not darken those doors again!!! And I had to walk on away to stay out of jail tonite when that manager started shooting his mouth off to others about my complaint!!!! Don't know why some others say that the food and service is so good here...apparently they never dine out in other restaurants! They're lucky that oyster shell didn't crack my tooth...with attitude like that, a law suit would definitely have happened. Count your lucky...
Read moreUpdated 7/22 Sad to post this update of one of my fav Lumb spots but how hard is a takeout order straight off the menu with a simple request for the hot salsa with the chips? No language issue because the young lady spoke better English than me but somehow she got the straight entree wrong AND I get this mess home, settle down with a beverage and my chips and got canned tomatoes to dip 'em into.
This is the second time they've gotten a simple take out order so messed up I didn't bother to finish it. Going to have to find another fav Mexican restaurant or get shift schedule of the manager so a simple take out order might go out right.
Update 4-22 I still love this place. Always get curbside because of a disability. The orders always correct with the chips and salsa. Everything's packaged well for travel. No unexpected spills in the car.
INITIAL REVIEW And the food's great too!
The guy that takes the orders always there and always friendly over the phone. Lunch or dinner order. Not sure if he's the owner. But if he just works there he needs a...
Read moreThe waitress was AWESOME, sadly I don't remember her name. She was very helpful when my wife's overcooked steak was delivered. She rolled her eyes at the kitchen. We liked her more. I asked for a "table salsa" that is much more spicy then the normal stuff. Most gringos say it's too spicy. I thought it was made from excellent roasted chilies, just the right amount of cilantro, onions, and other delights I couldn't identify. If you are into hotter salsas, ask for this. My entrée was ceviche, something I usually love. This one came with cucumbers, something I've never had before. It turns out that humble ole cucumbers actually have strong flavor when included with shrimp. I managed to pick around the cucumbers and enjoyed the ceviche.
Bottom line, my wife probably wouldn't want to come back. But I wouldn't mind going again. There are a lot more things on the menu. We ended up tipping the waitress 50%, she...
