Great food but racist. Been a regular since its original location in Beaumont across from the Parkdale Mall (Gino's), typically visiting at least once a week with tips alway over 20%. Unfortunately, started noting significant discriminatory delays starting about a year ago. Frequently found my party having to wait 40+ minutes after ordering, even with simple pasta dishes, long after other tables having received similar dishes despite being seated after our ordering. Upon inquiry, server typically nonchalantly indicate misplaced order by the kitchen staffs. Observed other minority guests subjected to similar treatment on a few occasions but never for caucasians. No obvious delays when calling-in to-go's, only during dine-in. Once again, tonight we found ourselves only received salads despite waited for over half-hour after placing orders while numerous other tables received all of their entrees despite being seated after our ordering. Waitstaff stopped by multiple times and provided reassurance throughout the delays, yet continued to deliver entrees for other tables. We gave operator benefit of the doubt in the past, but experiencing similar discriminatory service for the third consecutive visits in a row can no longer be chalked to flukes. Never having received our entrees, we left $20 for two side salads plus two cups of water and shall take our business elsewhere....
Read moreThis is a very nice restaurant. It looks and feels very clean. The lighting is kept dim to give the private Italian restaurant feeling, but it is very minor. The tall ceiling and its openness make the lighting work very well. I have never had issues with the staff. They have always been kind and perform as you'd expect from normal wait staff. Since it is a traditional style waited tables, there is an expectation of leaving tips, but I do not know how ethically the staff are paid. The food is typical for Italian, but high quality. There are many pastas to choose from and pizzas as well. Pastas usually come with a simple salad. There are plenty of vegetarian options in both categories. A large portion of the menu is dedicated to chicken pastas, and while I did not try them, I assume it is their specialty based on how large the section is. Pizzas can be customized and come in personal and table sizes. They also offer an interesting selection of appetizers and wine, but I cannot vouch for their quality. Based on what I have tried, I assume it's all pretty good. Based on what you want, expect to pay $10 for simple meals to $30 for the larger/more complex meals (before drinks, tax and tip.) If you are in Lumberton and like tomato sauces and/or cheese, I can't recommend anywhere more than Napoli's for a traditional waited...
Read moreThis is by far the worst Italian restaurant we've ever been to. You would think from the prices that the food is mid-grade, decent. On the contrary, the quality is very low. The chicken in the chicken parm was like a processed patty similar to those used on fast food chicken sandwiches. The tomato sauce was oddly sweet as if someone put sugar in it instead of having the natural sweetness of the tomatoes. We asked for a Caesar salad without mozzarella (yes, they put mozzarella on Caesar salads), and the salad came out with grated parmesan because they don't have blocks of parmesan to make parm shavings used for Caesar salads like every other Italian restaurant out there. We also had one of their pizzas and it tasted like it was from the freezer at the local grocery store. If the prices were lower to match the quality of the food, I would give this place a little higher rating; but for their prices, this place...
