Updated review: Jan 2025 Have come back a couple time since original review and have become less of a fan after trying a few more dishes.
Goi cuon has a seasoned pork rather than simply pork belly throwing the entire flavor profile off for the rolls. Definitely not a fan and prefer the authentic standard style much better.
Banh xeo is lacking... So is the bun rieu...
The tai oup meat (raw marinated meat) in their pho that was their stand out amongst pho places is supposed to be marinated but twice now, even when asking for it (since they no longer serve it standard, only upon request) has been just basic tai. Sadly disappointing...
Sadly, based on these last few visits, I think I'm taking them off my list and going to be looking another go to spot.. 😪
Original Review: June 2024 Good authentic vietnamese food!
Cha gio (vietnamese egg rolls) are made northern style using rice paper fried to a crisp - making them crispy and chewy! Different from southern style you usually see using wonton wrappers.
Snails with coconut lemongrass broth was delicious!! Could eat that all day! Flavors were ON POINT!
Pho broth had depth and richness to it. Two types of pho broths, clearer and darker - this was the darker version and the type that I prefer.
Bun bo hue was tasty! The homemade sate on the side was a nice touch - flavorful and spicy.
All portions were great value for the cost and each soup came loaded with meat and noodles.
The herbs were all fresh and plentiful!
Service was great and attentive!
Highly recommend and will definitely be our new go to spot for pho!
One request to the owners - please add che, nuoc mia, and nem nuong to the menu! Would keep us from having to go to other viet spots more south! 😜 Thank you for the...
Read moreLet me start first by saying, the very nice gentleman who waited on us was absolutely wonderful. Very respectful and proud of his restaurant.
For which he should be! I've lived here in Florida for going on 3 years now, and I've been eating Vietnamese food for the majority of that time. I can honestly say that Viet Trang is by far the most delectable, cared for cuisine I've had the pleasure of tasting.
I'm a Vegan, and there were SO MANY Vegan options (3 pages, plus dessert) that I had a hard time choosing. Usually, a restaurant carries 3 or 4 Vegan dishes max. Here? There were SO many different choices and not just carbon copy renditions of one another.
I got the Vegan Supreme Soup... It was divine. The broth is to die for. Yes there were strips of seitan, tofu, vegan chicken, vegan pork, and mixed veggies; but, what made this soup the BEST dish I've ever had, was that amazing broth.
I also tasted their Vegan steamed buns which were light and fluffy, as well as sweet and chewy. The cabbage inside was lightly peppered and soaked in a sweet sauce. These were the first buns I've had, so I can't give an honest review on comparison, but I loved them!
For dessert, I had my very first Vegan chocolate cheesecake. I absolutely loved it. Vegan desserts are usually tasteless and boring, but this one was flavorful and the texture was spot on.
I don't know why Trang Viet has so many Vegan options, but I can tell you that I'll be coming back and bringing friends!
Also, the restaurant is whether accessible with center mount tables at a good height.
Absolutely, 100% recommend this as your next favorite...
Read moreI was a regular when the original owner, Trang, ran the place. He was a wonderful, friendly, owner who knew you by your first name. I was a regular from the time he opened many years ago. I was saddened when he left. I was. however, willing to give the new owners a chance. Pretty much I saw right away things had changed. I understand that prices rise especially with a new owner. However, when you not only rise prices but reduce the amount of food, things are not looking good. It has only gotten worse. When I used to go quite often, sometimes twice a week, I hardly go anymore. One of my favorites was L-1 with chicken. Originally, it was three skewers with chicken served with rice or noodles, some lettuce and a sauce. Now there is not even enough chicken for one skewer. Oh, I forgot you now get more lettuce. As I said, earlier, the price has also risen. My mother who likes pork in a clay pot, didn't even get any broth to put over the rice. I won't be totally negative as at least the summer rolls are still good. The soup, and Trang always had fantastic soup, is good but they have downsized the containers so you get barely 2/3 cup of soup. If you're gonna downsize the entree big time at least make the sides a little bigger. I won't and my Mother who is even more upset will probably make it a couple times of a year where before it was much more. One more thing, on your birthday you used to get a free entree but now you get nothing if you don't bring someone with you who purchases a meal. I don't wish the new owners any bad luck but I will venture to say I'm sure business has...
