HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILIES. If I could give this a minus 5, I definitely would. I have been to this place numerous times. The food is always adequate, but the service is lacking. When you fail as a server in a place that you only serve drinks, and are also poor at cleaning tables, that is a big problem. Let me explain.....My daughter has two "special needs children", specifically children with Autism. She was in there yesterday with her family. This business obviously does not train or educate themselves or their employees about special needs people. She was up at the buffet with her youngest, who is 6. He stated to her that he was getting sick due to the smell of the food, which is common amongst children with Autism, and their sensory issues. He asked if he could go sit down at his table. To make a long story short, he went to the wrong table, and quietly vomited into a jacket, which he thought was his sister's. His mother came back and saw vomit on his shirt. He told her he vomited, and had some on his shirt. She thought he vomited a little on his shirt and took him to the restroom. This "uneducated server" came into the restroom chastising my daughter about her son throwing up on the other customer's coat and "ordered" her to clean it, which she did. She apologized to the customer, who understood. She offered to buy the lady a new jacket, or have her jacket professionally cleaned. Again, the nice customer understood and declined the offers. My daughter did end up voluntarily paying for her dinner. To add insult to injury, this ignorant server came up to the counter while my daughter was paying for this lousy experience. AGAIN, she chastised my daughter in public, humiliating her at the counter, berating her and asking her, "didn't you watch your child, you should pay attention" At this point feeling like she should crawl under a rock, my daughter quietly left. That "server" for lack of a better description, humiliated a special needs family. My family and I will NEVER walk in there again. They lost about 20 customers with this incident. A family member called yesterday to complain, and the owners or managers involved seemed uncaring. Good...
Read moreI’m actually not even the review type of guy but after going today I just had to leave one hibachi used to be my favorite restaurant good atmosphere good food good everything but recent years it’s gone a bit downhill especially in the sanitary department, but today one instance, I saw this lady just going around different sections. I was at the crabs and she was just digging through the crabs with her bare hands trying to find the biggest ones and putting back the messed up looking ones now this wasn’t the only occasion she did it for the beef and broccoli the chicken on a stick and it wasn’t just me saw this lady do this. It was other people too, but when I told one of the workers, she just laughed it off which yeah I get it. It’s not her responsibility but for it being my favorite restaurant and for spending over $80 on me and my family, I expect to have sanitary and clean food which I did not have so though I Love hibachi I’m going to have to take a break for a while because they’re sanitary Standards just aren’t up to par and my recommendation if any worker supervisor, or manager is reading this is to have somebody dedicated to watching the bar to look out for trifling people touching all over the food that others are going to eventually eat...
Read moreThis is what you might expect of an Asian buffet, but the food offerings are SO much more. Bring an appetite, folks, because there's that many tastes to satisfy, from the fully-stocked cold/salad bar, six whole rows of hot offerings, to the Hibachi grill, where your steak, chicken, or shrimp can be grilled before you, to the desert bar that comes complete with a chocolate fountain. This has become our first Lynchburg "go-to" eatery, so far, because it hasn't disappointed in any of the four or five times we've now been there. This is really your best value and most bang for your dinner buck we've come across, so far, so give 'em a try and see what YOU think.
If I were to be nit-picky - and this is such a minor thing, really - it would be to expand their beer selection a bit, as it's the only alcohol that can be ordered here.
BTW, we've discovered that steak is only offered in the evenings and NOT for lunch, so if you're out to satisfy your inner carnivore, wait until dinner starts. You'd be correct to assume that the price per person is a couple of bucks higher in the evening (14.99) than for lunch (12.99).
The next time I go, I'll try to take pics to add to...
