I grew up in a far away land where In-N-Out ruled the fast food empire, and rightly so. If anyone asked me where they should eat a delicious and affordable lunch that didn't put them to sleep after eating it, with a fun environment and cool menu, I sent them on a quest to the nearest In-N-Out.
Alas, I moved away from that land, long before it became the world's newest communist nation, and have been looking for something to fill that gaping hole in my soul ever since. In the mountain west I met the brother chains of Rancherito's and Beto's with their awesomely big and cheap Breakfast Burritos and my soul was satisfied for a time.
But having left all that I knew behind and coming to the land of trees, I needed to find a new haunt to rest my haunches and partake of gloriousness. I found it. In the taverns of Cook Out.
Their milkshakes are devine, the french fries like Manna. The chicken tenders are uplifting even when cold. The Cheerwine like nectar. The hush puppies are like nuggets of gold. The quesadillas better than prime rib, and the barbecue sandwich is like the harps and choirs of the angels.
Lest I become obsessed and destroy my body, I have to exercise all my self restraint from indulging too often. But when the number on my bathroom scale allows for it, when company visits from out in the land where the sun sets, or when my spirit hungers with a deeper hunger than the words of God can satisfy, I will find myself ordering a tray at the walk-up...

Like many others with similarly unappetizing experiences, I was invited to call their corporate office. Just like all the others, I left my contact info. And that was the end of it. Top down leadership in action.
Strike 1: They were out of napkins. Strike 2: No salt and pepper even tho I requested twice at the pick up window. Strike 3: They simply missed adding fries to the bag.
Forfeit: We’re all human and make mistakes and these are certainly minor. What is not insignificant is they way I was treated when I made a courteous request for items typically included in drive thru—like food I ordered and paid for and napkins. Meanwhile, my burger is quickly cooling in the car.
Two silly girls at the walk up window laughed, made fun of me to each other, and yelled at me when I asked for the manager. I’d gotten nowhere with them in 10 min and my burger is getting colder. WHY?
The polite man who finally delivered my missing fries explained that they were out of napkins and had sent someone to Farmville for official Cook Out napkins. Where’s the logic? No napkins versus plain napkins from a nearby grocery store in a pinch?
Just like their sign which is half-lit, Cook Out strikes OUT!
They should take a page from the playbook of the famous chicken restaurant that closes on Sundays and send their staff to a top-notch school of...

It was somewhat busy and I know sometimes it's hard to hear thought the speaker and they might have felt rushed but they seemed to not be understand my friends and I at all when we ordered. They messed up and wouldn't respond half the time. They asked us to pull forward before I even finished ordering. When we got to the window, they completely messed up our order. And it seemed like they were trying to get us to pay for it. We corrected them multiple times after they continued to get our order wrong. They were getting more rude and kept saying basically hurry up when they were only half listening. When we finally got our food, they were missing some of it so we told them. They practically threw our last couple of milkshakes at us and yelled for us to "just go!" All of my friends in the car and I were upset with this, especially since we have been going here for years without really any problems. I understand wanting to get the line moving when it's busier but I've had way better service when the line has been significantly longer in the past. I guess don't go when it looks busy if you want your order correct and a...
