Noodles and Company — Restaurant in Lynchburg

By far the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. I do DoorDash when I'm at college, and I've had two astronomically horrible experiences at this Noodles and Co. The first experience I had was about 2 months ago. I walked in to pick up the order, just to have to wait 45 minutes for a mac and cheese. There were several other doordashers with me who had to wait just as long if not longer. There was also a gentleman who placed a mobile order to pick up his food, and he got the notification his food was ready for pick up, but still had to wait over an hour to get his food. He was lied to, and his food wasn't ready. There was a group of people dining in at the restaurant, and everybody except one woman got her food. They all ordered at the same time. She LEFT before they made her food because the rest of her friends were done eating, and they would have waited 30 minutes just for one dish. As a FAST FOOD place, waiting over an hour for one simple dish is inexcusable. The staff claimed to have a massive order that they just recieved, but that doesn't mean that they throw the rest of the guests to the wayside. Not once did the staff apologize, and as the gentleman who placed the mobile order expressed his frustration and disappointment in a respectful manner, the staff ROLLED THEIR EYES. Each staff member acted as if they were better than their job, but only showed they were beneath it. In the end, several dashers including myself were penalized for having late deliveries because of the incompetent management of this restaurant. The second experience I had was yesterday, 1/20/25. Yet again I was DoorDashing, and I received an order for Noodles and Co. I expected a much better experience this time, especially because there was nobody at the store. I walk over to the pick up area, just to have to wait about 5 minutes before I'm even acknowledged. The first employee, Ashlyn, saw me but decided to ignore me as I'm trying to pick up the order. Once she decided that I had waited long enough, I told her about the order I was picking up. She looked at the screen, said she didn't have the order, and then turned her back to continue peeling broccoli. The general manager, Aly, pulled up the order and read it off to me: A mac and cheese and a pad thai. After not having the order ready even though it was placed 15 minutes ago despite having no customers, the general manager was nasty and had a horrible tone. Yet again, there was no apology. She proceeded to tell me to call the customer because she wasn't going to put extra egg on the order since they didn't pay the small upcharge. I expressed that since the order wasn't ready by the time the customer expected, they should add the egg in meal as gratuity. Aly decided to then proceed to start yelling at me that she doesn't care, and if she wanted then quote "I could say I just don't have the order." Instead of apologizing for the late order and adding the egg as a sorry, she decided that lying about the order and compromising her integrity and job was the better option. For a second time, the order took over 30 minutes to prepare for a FAST FOOD restaurant, even though they had no customers in the store. I am shocked that this restaurant is still in business. The restaurant has good food, but Aly, the general manager, needs to be fired. She is defaming the name of the store, and is a horrible leader. She should not be in ANY customer service job. To start, the service was fantastic. They were knowledgeable, very dedicated, attentive, and all around very nice. Secondly, the atmosphere is very nice. It's definitely got that fast casual vibe like five guys but is very nice inside. Everything is modern and well lit. Now lastly and the most important part, the food. It was amazing! I got a simple dish as my first (The butter noodles) and they were delicious. I added parmesan chicken to it and it just enhanced it further. Their parmesan chicken is by far some of the best I've ever had of it. I just wish you got a little more than one breast but luckily the taste makes up for it! I've tried other dishes as well like the chicken pesto dish. It was very good as well. The rice crispy treats are made in house too!! They're like I remember from my childhood and it's amazing. I definitely think you should give them a try. If one dish doesn't work out, try another. There are plenty of dishes there, so why not? It ranges in styles like Italian to Thai, etc. Lynchburg gravely needed something new and different, and this is that. Price wise too, it's reasonably priced with good portion sizing. I am writing on account of Liberty University Baseball Team. We have have catering orders for the last couple months here at the Wards Road location in Lynchburg. Words cannot express how grateful and appreciative we are to the service of Noodles and Co. They are always on time with our orders. The attention to detail in our orders never disappoints. They provide everything we need week in and out for our team without fail. We order a lot of food and considering how long it must take to prepare our meal is appropriate. I’m grateful for these workers who put so much time to take care of us. The service, quality of food, attention to detail is flawless. Our team is extremely thankful and I have to mention out of all the places we cater to, Noodles and Company is their favorite meal throughout the weekend! Thank you so much for all you all do.
