Update May 15, 2025
Decided to give this location a second try and glad that we did. We tried the strawberry balls this time and they were divine. The cinnamon balls again were quite dry so I will not order them again. I wish that they would make the strawberry balls with ice cream instead of whipped cream that would be perfect. But the cheese balls were great and my husband had a boogie board which was stuffed. I need to open a restaurant like this in Canada
Started going to Coconut Kenny's back in 08-09 to the one on James St. Then ventured to 2nd location, which we preferred as it was bigger. Always had a great meal at both locations. Decided to try this newest location.
Here's my honest review
The cheese balls were amazeballs!
Pizza was just ok, but $15 for 4 small pieces is a bit much!
However, cinnamon balls were terrible!! The texture was like they had sat under heat lamp for half the day, as they were really dry & barely warm, usually come with a lot more chocolate sauce & caramel on them. This location had barely anything on them, so they were dry in other ways as well.
I thought about asking for a fresh order, but we were in a rush to get out & get home, so I didn't bother.
Not sure I will order these again at this location because my daughter's were the same, but hers were cold. She did get much more ice cream though & more chocolate too. Not only that, but it took them a really long time to bring our food. Not the greatest...
Read moreBeware! Not safe for gluten allergies! My partner and I were so excited to try this place after it popped up for gluten free restaurants in Lynden. We presented our small, simple order to the cashier, and stressed the importance of our shrimp pizza having a gluten free crust multiple times. The cashier casually assured us the kitchen takes precautions with gluten free pizzas. So when my pizza arrived, and it looked fluffy like a gluten crust, I assumed it must just be the Coconut Kenny style of gf crust. But after taking a few bites, I realized this was not the case. I got the attention of another employee who was shocked our receipt didn't even list "gluten free" for the crust! Thankfully, this employee (Karissa) was very kind and made it right. But we are left wondering how the cashier could have made this error after the very clear conversation we had while ordering. We genuinely feel like the cashier who took our order did not care about our dietary needs (or her employer) and didn't even bother to ring up our order as gluten free. If only she knew how this one careless act is impacting our health and holiday...
Read moreTried Coconut Kenny's for the first time and... wow. That vegetarian pizza? Legit one of the best I’ve had in a while. The dough was soft and tender with a light crisp on the edge—perfectly balanced. Not drowning in sauce, just enough to complement the cheese and toppings.
Flavor? On point. Presentation? Great. Ambiance? Totally a Hawaiian treat with a great feel—laid-back, cozy, and full of tropical vibes.
Big shoutout to Max, our amazing host! We mentioned we couldn’t find a fish and chip place, and he took the time to recommend several spots he knew. His genuine kindness and effort really made our visit even better.
If you want a traditional large pizza, just go ahead and order two Kenny’s larges—they’re a little smaller than expected, but they pack a punch.
Still, super glad we stopped in. It’s a cozy spot with great flavors. Will...
