7 Brew Coffee — Restaurant in Lyndhurst

I’ve been here before and don’t remember how I felt about it. In essence, it’s an outdoor coffee shop, and I’m visiting it at the front end of the winter. It’s constructed in such a way, though, that it feels like you’re visiting for convenience, rather than atmosphere.

I’m one of those people who chats a bit with my server. Since I visited 7 Brew at 6:30 in the morning, there was no traffic behind me To hold up. I asked the young lady who took my order if it bothered her having a job that started so early.She said “Not really, after a few days you get used to it.”

That’s astounded me because I don’t think I would ever get used to starting work so early. Although she said it with enough sincerity that I believed her. Also, she has an “honest face,” and that counts for a lot.

After our short chat, she turned around, walked into the kiosk and made my coffee. No matter what I said about this place last time, this was really good coffee. And it’s a good fill-in for the extra hour I took accidentally today.

It occurred to me. This is a tiny kiosk where you’re served outdoors and sent on your way to consume your beverage or meal. That means overhead is low, am I right? The prices don’t reflect lowered overhead. That’s a bit upsetting.

I’m not proud of the fact that I lost track of the time change, I’m just adding it to this review so you’ll understand the state of mind I was...

I'm going to give 7 Brew 4 stars for now; give them time to redeem themselves. The drinks are good, but not consistent. If I order a iced mocha on Monday, and go back on Tuesday ordering the same drink, I find the drinks never taste the same. Lite ice is not a half cup of ice, it's less than that. I like the concept, the variety of flavors and concoctions, but there's no consistency in their signature drinks. I ordered a white chocolate mocha during the free drink giveaway. I normally don't like white chocolate but this drink was good. I went back the next day, completely different taste than the day before. Same with the Blondie.

Update. They're continously inconsistent. I took a break for a few weeks because I was disappointed but decided today to give them another try since they have been open almost a month. I ordered a brunette extra sweet light ice. I asked her, was this a brunette because it was so light. She came back and said, yes, it is a brunette. It does not look like...

If I could give them zero stars I would. I hate having to be negative. Backstory I worked at a 7 brew years ago. I ordered my usual, girl had no idea what I was talking about, of course my order came out wrong, I asked for chai and got espresso. Went to the walk up to ask if they could remake my drink, stood there for 5 minutes not a single look my way, with the door wide open btw. Employees were all standing next to machines eating and playing on phone. Went back through the drive through, second girl had no idea what my drink was and brought out another girl, I explained to the girl I ordered a mistletoe chai breve, she explains that I ordered a breve and mistletoe is a secret menu recipe so that’s only 1 scoop of flavor, not what I was asking about but ok. I had to explain the ingredients that go in a simple drink, white chocolate, chai, and breve. Even had to tell them fill lines, andddd still came out wrong. Worst experience I’ve ever...
