The Original Empanada Factory — Restaurant in Lyndhurst

I purchased their empanadas at my local farmers market for the past 3 Sundays, they are good and not greasy. They Charge 3.00 per piece , but they seem to change their prices weekly now they are $4.00 snd $4.50 .. they mentioned I can place a catering order and they will be happy to bring them to the farmers market. They mentioned to go online and choose my flavors, online 30 empanadas are 64.00 which is completely fine . When I was placing the order for the 30 empanadas they wanted to charge me 120.00. They said this was a traveling fee. I mentioned to them that they were already coming to the market and to pay double is outrageous. The woman was not pleasant and said this is my price . Great concept which could use a little help with execution. The idea of tons of different types of empanadas sold in boxes like donuts is brilliant. Every town should have a store like this. That said there is room for improvement. First, lay off the salt on the chicken and beef empanadas, and consider adding other flavorful condiments. Second,recreating jersey and Italian staples in empanada form is interesting once, but not something I'd build half my menu around. Consider exploring flavors like curry or spicy BBQ, spiciness, and other meats, like pork. Lastly, their dough is pretty great, but I would serve the empanadas a bit hotter in temperature.

I love empanadas so why not start my cheat day with some. When I arrived there was only street parking but I found a spot right away. When I walked in there was someone ahead of me but when I got to the counter I asked questions and the server was very informative. I decided to go with the buffalo chicken empanada and beef empanada. She told me I can add a drink for the same price so I went with the lemonade. It only came to about $5.35 which is a bargin.
