Villa Italia — Restaurant in Lyndhurst

We have been ordering from Villa before it was in the new location. The food hits all the right tastes and textures. Any pizza we have ordered has delicious flavor and crisp crust, which is not too thin or thick. Just right for a solid bite. Plain, mushroom, pepperoni, sausage or peppers and onions have all been perfectly prepared The hot sandwiches are just amazing. Chicken, eggplant or meatball parm, sausage and peppers but my favorite is the grilled chicken Ceasars salad sandwich on garlic bread. The wraps are not soggy but filled with grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes, grilled eggplant; you will find the combo you desire. Now I can't forget to comment about the dinners. My favorite is the rigatoni with broccoli rabe, sausage and white cannolini beans OMG. And don't forget to order the traditional soups. But everything we have tried has been pleasing to the senses. If you can think it, they will make it. I just can't say enough about Villa Italia. I don’t often find time to leave reviews but I was impressed & felt I definitely needed to. I was initially sending food to someone through the DoorDash app. Something wasn’t clear so I called Villa Italia to ask. Well the young lady who answered the phone was polite, courteous & most helpful! As per her rec., I ordered directly through the restaurant itself, ordered everything I wanted to send, & she even waited on the line while I asked what sauce they liked. Customer svc is everything as the face of a successful business! I can see how the good food combined w/great svc makes this restaurant so popular. This was the recipient’s favorite as he raves about the fried calamari & mussels, etc. We aren’t nearby but when in the area, we will def. stop in to eat. I can not express enough what a Magnificent Pizza Joint Villa Italia really is! True old school to the core! The kitchen is right behind the counter. You can watch some of the finest tasting fresh mozzarella I've ever tasted being pulled right before your eyes. Watch a pie get tossed up in the air with talant and grace. Or see the entire kitchen staff working seamlessly together performing perfectly to bring us joy on a plate!! The owner Joe is a true Paisan, he employs neighborhood kids, giving them an opportunity to learn responsibility. And from what I've recently learned, supports little league teams and other local organizations. Just an all around great guy! Villa Italia is a true blessing to have in the neighborhood!
