I have no idea how this place is getting 4-5 stars. It's mostly for male bougie gringos who have more beard than hair, more belly than brains, more truck than personality, to watch football while drinking on a somewhat ok covered patio. In Texas and LA, we know covered patios....this is ok for a converted home on a main street but just isn't comfortable with plastic chairs, half of its in the open sun, and 20 TVs all on the same one or two games. I tried patiently waiting for my to-go order but got hit on twice in 15 mins by lonely dudes drinking at the bar alone who saw me sitting alone, thinking I'm here to pick up some d and not food. I'm not sure I'll be back. The loaded fries congealed into a hard mass at the bottom of the container before I even got home, due to whatever they call "cheese" they put on it. I tried warming it up but it's like the fries are glued down with caulk, very little flavor and toppings. The fried pickles were good. Last but not least DONT PUT RANCH AND SAUCE CUPS IN PLASTIC CONDIMENT CUPS AND THEN STICK WITH STEAMING HOT FRIED PICKLES AND FRIES. The plastic cups melted and oozed sauce everywhere from touching the hot fried pickles. And.....the sauces were scorching hot ...not the best temperature to prevent food borne illnesses. Meh....I'm not sure I'll be back.

This place is awesome. If you’re thinking about it, just come. The vibe is great. No drama or beef. Everyone was super respectful. They employee like 3-4 security guards that are big enough to hold their own if anything does go south. It was all love and fun on a Saturday night though. The live band Naked Garden was an awesome cover band. Even when it was standing room only I still was able to get drinks and food very quickly. The bartenders were highly attentive and very good at what they do to keep things moving. They even had like bus girls out keeping up with mess so the place didn’t become a pig sty. Everything from the drinks to the food is very reasonably priced. The smoked turkey blt was huge. Some of the best bar food I’ve had. Parking was limited. We made our own spot in the grass out front. Nobody complained and others joined us. Kudos to the owners for running such an efficient and profitable establishment. Thanks for allowing us to have fun and not being over bearing. Awesome spot. Come enjoy it!

I came to Joe’s today bc google maps suggested it after going to another terrible place first (thank God for that) looking for some lunch. I had never been to this part of the city. This place is amazing and the food spectacular. The vibe and decoration is a 10/10. Lindsey is absolutely the best. Thank you for your suggestions and thanks to those in the kitchen that prepared the food so well, it was delicious. I had the fried fish with potatoes chips. Food was in the right temperature and texture. I loved it. I’m definitely coming back to Joe’s older than Dirt along with mi family and friends. If it was this nice on a Wednesday afternoon I imagine weekends must be spectacular.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I’ve come to joes for months usually more than twice a week with my friends. I used to enjoy karaoke nights on tuesday, but recently i’ve been having problems with the staff specifically the bar tender Mackenzie. I’ve come to joes so frequently that I haven’t had to get ID-ed given i’m there every week I’ve come with the same friends every week and I was the only person my friend group to get ID-ed. Granted I didn’t have my ID this day bc as i’ve mentioned i haven’t gotten ID-ed there in weeks. but that was my fault so I left. I returned with the paper copy of my ID the next day the same bartender made me leave again even though I was told by security that I was fine to enter with a paper copy. I have multiple documents proving my age, a paper HARD COPY from the DMV, credit cards, literally my birth certificate proving my age and am still the only person to get ID-ed out of my entire friend group and the only person to be put out EVEN THO MINORS LITERALLY ATTEND THIS BAR ALL THE TIME. I wasn’t even drinking, didn’t even attempt to go to the bar I just wanted to hang out with my friends for my birthday weekend and get hasseled even with a hard copy of my ID. It’s unfair that i’m the only person to get approached by security to have my id rechecked when I just got it checked at the enterance of the bar. I literally told them to call the police to verify my information considering i’m 23 years old. It feels like it’s targeted and intentional for the staff to find me out of every person in the bar every single time to check my ID even tho the security has admitted to checking my ID multiple times before and knowing i’m over the age of 21 and bartenders literally admitted to remembering checking my ID and knowing i’m over 21. When my ID is checked at the door and im told im fine to enter and then someone comes up to me 5 minutes later to “re-check it” it feels like im being harassed. Idk if the staff is racist or what but it’s crazy that every single time they come up with an excuse to check and re-check my ID multiple times and tell me certain forms are accepted and then get asked to leave for no reason. I’m not a minor the entire staff knows i’m not a minor and I have a proper ID. This bar is ridiculous and I used to love the place so it sucks. Not to mention I come to this bar with the same person every time and makenzie claimed she remembered my best friend, did NOT ID her, served her, and refused to serve me with a paper copy of my ID. Ron even said he does know and recognizes me and has checked my ID multiple times and even with a paper copy I was asked to leave. My friends even said its not right because they’re not even being ID-ed and we all come as a group together. Either ID EVERYONE every single time or don’t pick and choose who to be strict on IDs with. It’s insane that you guys treat people who regularly spend money at your bar like this anyways. Literally the ONLY bar in louisville to refuse service to me with a paper copy of my ID while minors literally get served there every single weekend. How is it fair for some people to be able to drink with “staff remembering them” without an ID and not others???

to respond to your reply: I had an ID. and as i stated in the review other people did not have IDs, and didn’t get ID-ed and still got served including minors :) so clearly joes does not...

If I could put zero stars I would. We used to come to this bar frequently, it was our favorite local spot. Tonight we went in on a Saturday night, as usual. The bartender was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered (I am unsure of her name, but she was wearing checkered pants) She told my 24 year old fiancé that his id was fake, and we told her to scan it and see that it was real, but she wouldn’t put it through a scanner, she just told us it was fake and she couldn’t serve us. She was being so disgustingly rude and we didn’t have much time to waste so we left. Went to another bar, they scanned the ID and had no issue. This was our favorite bar, but we will never be returning after this terrible woman’s behavior tonight. The bartender also tried to involve other men who were sitting at the bar, saying “his id is fake” and getting everyone involved for no reason. It is very humiliating to be 24 years old and have some foul mouthed woman claim your ID is fake, especially when we frequent this bar and have NEVER had an issue before tonight. Will be telling all of our friends who frequent this bar about this as well, what a disgusting end to our relationship with our favorite local spot,...
