My girlfriend and I were wanting someplace to eat before a concert and after she scoured reviews of available sushi restaurants we decided on this one since it is the highest and most consistently rated in Louisville.

We dined in, which I don’t really recommend unless you HAVE to. Since it’s a to-go restaurant, everything is served in to-go containers and it isn’t like you have table service. But, the atmosphere is pleasant, and clean.

The ordering process was easy although the menu is somewhat hard to decipher in the way it’s organized; all the rolls started sounding the same after a while due to the rearranging of similar ingredients.

We decided on the Louisville roll, the rainbow roll, and the green city roll. The sushi itself was a mixed bag. The ingredients are high-quality; no doubt about that. The rolls themselves are large, which is not my personal preference, but it works ok…except that the green city roll was not good due to the large meat chunks and their texture…my girlfriend almost lost her appetite completely, and I wasn’t pleased either. But otherwise the Louisville roll had great flavor and texture as did the rainbow roll, which tasted very fresh. Just be discerning about which roll works best in the large format and you’ll be ok. The pricing is also reasonable.

The employees are SUPER friendly, and the overall vibe is respectful and pleasant.

I would definitely recommend this place. It was busy the entire time we were there, and they get their orders out VERY quickly. Lots of locals too, which is encouraging. Overall, a good...

I would not believe the 4.8 stars currently on Google maps for this restaurant if I did not try it for myself. A co-worker hyped it up daily so I thought I was going to be set up for disappointment. ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is the BEST sushi I've ever tasted. The rolls are gigantic and they just melt in your mouth. Normally when I'm starving, I eat extremely fast without appreciating the flavor. I took nearly a minute to eat each piece, savoring every dimension of flavor that I could possibly experience. Pictured are the Louisville, Happy, Kentucky, and Lexington rolls. The fish is so incredibly fresh. I did not need any soy sauce to dip the rolls in. In fact, I tried dipping one piece and it nearly ruined the flavor. The salmon was seared with a torch. The rice was not grainy at all. The happy roll (second one down) is only $6.50! That's cheaper than mediocre grocery store sushi! I waited until after coming here a second time just to make sure the first time was not a fluke and I still found myself shaking my head, saying things like "wow" or "OMG so good!" after every bite. Hilariously enough, you can go through the drive through, but you'll be waiting for awhile because the rolls are freshly made. Go check these guys out! FYI, I ate the leftovers the next morning and it was...

Oh man, I moved away from Louisville and miss this place so much! Don't be turned off by the weird exterior (It's an old Bruster's Ice Cream building) and the unattractive name. This is a cozy little sushi restaurant that serves very high quality food. While the name made me think of Kroger sushi, this is actually comparable to other really good Louisville sushi places, such as Oishii (I think ToGo is better).

Some of my favorites on the menu are the special Happy Roll (Only $5.99!!! And it's good!!!!), the Lyndon Roll, the Salmon Nigiri, and the green tea ice cream. Miso soup comes with their "specialty" rolls and is always fresh and hot. The staff is incredibly nice, and if you dine in, you get a free orange for dessert. Dining in also lets you see all their ingredients on display at the counter; they're all very fresh.

I would not suggest the drive thru. Sushi takes a little bit of time to make to be called "fast food." Also, the drive thru menu doesn't have their full selection. I recommend calling an order ahead then picking it up. Their Facebook page has a lot of quality pictures of non-doctored food if you want to see what you're getting before you order it.

Seriously, this place made me find sushi at a lot of other restaurants very underwhelming. Support this...

At the restaurant, I ordered the Kentucky roll, another Kentucky roll, and a different dish. The food was generally enjoyable, although the salmon was slightly dry. The eel sauce was exceptionally flavorful, while the soy sauce was satisfactory. The wait time was approximately 20 minutes. Upon entering the restaurant, I found a small sitting area that could accommodate up to eight people. If desired, there is a seating area for larger groups. As I mentioned earlier, the restaurant has an intimate atmosphere. The food was decent, and the pricing was reasonable. The menu was exceptionally extensive, featuring over 30 sushi options. This abundance of choices initially overwhelmed me, which contributed to the time it took for me to place my order. Additionally, I believe some of the items I ordered were pre-made. While this is acceptable, it can be inconvenient when making substitutions or requesting specific cooking levels, such as extra-cooked salmon. I had the impression that the staff would simply take the pre-made items and serve them to me.
