I chose the to eat and have a margarita at Diego’s after looking for a Mexican restaurant and reading the reviews on Google. I’m writing this review as I st here at the bar. It’s December 6th, 2024 and I’m freezing my but off sitting at the bar. Let me start by saying the service is top notch! Terry and Carter are making the drinks and their service is exemplary. Attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered very specific top shelf margaritas and they both knew exactly what I wanted. My only complaint is that the outside bar window is fully open and it’s 48 degrees outside which means it’s 48 degrees at the bar. I asked Terry and Carter if they would mind closing it but, they told me that the owners absolutely forbid them to close the MASSIVE (bar length) window to the frozen tundra, outside. In my opinion, this policy is ludicrous. The bar tenders should be able to open or close the window based on the current experience of the businesses customers. To mandate that it stays open, in spite of how uncomfortable the customers are, who are sitting inside,...
Read moreThe atmosphere is very comfortable. In the words of a couple ladies that spoke to me today, "This place is nothing like Chipotle. Chipotle feels like fast food. Diegos feels like a sit down restaurant." The food was good. We both got burrito bowls (hers- ground beef, mine- carnitas), we had the chips, and we added the dip trio (salsa, guacamole, and queso). They are on the Lynn Haven water system, so we recommend you do not drink the straight tap water (even with lemon). Go for a bottle of water, or a fountain drink/tea that will overpower that signature Lynn Haven flavor. The salsa was way chunkier than I expected, and I kind of appreciate the fresh, heavy tomato flavor, but there was really no cilantro in it, and we are accustomed to that heavenly weed. The service was superb! All-in-all, this is a fine restaurant and we will...
Read moreThis place is a joke. If you're going to waste your time going to Diegos at least go to the beach location. The staff is rude and try to rip you off with food portions. My wife ordered Queso and one taco, when the food came out there were no chips for the queso. I asked the server for chips and he stated because she bought 1 taco she doesn't get chips. I explained she also bought queso and only after asking several more times did they give her a handful of chips. I ordered a burrito bowl and got what I would consider a childs portion. I find it weird that the same restaurant would treat locals different than tourist as I have never had these issues at the Thomas Drive location. The best thing that could happen to this location is the staff be replaced or go...
