Favorite: Zinger Sandwich The zinger sandwich here is truly exceptional—it's spicy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The perfect combination of tender chicken, flavorful sauce, and a satisfying crunch make it the best I've ever tried. The choice of bread elevates the experience, although I've found it lacking in other establishments like Hakuna Matata and Hello Shawarma.
Chicken Shawarma Meal Unfortunately, the chicken shawarma meal fell short of expectations. Both the bread and chicken were overcooked, resulting in a disappointing texture. The lack of proper seasoning and the absence of hummus in the falafel sandwich further detracted from the overall experience.
Fries and Seasoning While the fries seasoning could use improvement, I must recommend the fattoush burger for having the best fries seasoning among the options available. However, I got a chicken burger for my nephew, who is a fan of chicken sandwiches he said it tasted like a low quality chicken nugget, and the fries artifical potatoes made by a chicken.
Falafel Sandwich The falafel sandwich suffered from hard, improperly squished falafel pieces and a lack of hummus, served cold and in an unconventional manner that made it difficult to enjoy.
Garlic Sauce (Mtawameh) The garlic sauce, or mtawameh, did not meet expectations either, as it lacked the desired flavor profile. However, Hakuna Metata has set a high standard for mtawameh with their exceptional chicken shawarma.
Suggestions for Improvement: I believe the addition of a variety of sauces for dipping would greatly enhance the dining experience, catering to sauce enthusiasts like myself. Additionally, ensuring the availability of napkins is essential for customer convenience.
Recommendations: In conclusion, while there are areas for improvement, I genuinely hope this feedback is received constructively. As a sauce aficionado and lover of well-prepared Middle Eastern cuisine, I encourage the establishment to consider these suggestions earnestly. Moreover, I am open to further dialogue and collaboration to elevate the quality of your offerings. Let's work together to refine your menu and enhance the overall...
Read moreSo I am writing a review after 3 visits. First visit, we got chicken shawarma meals. They barely had chicken in them and tasted dry. We thought this might be due to the fact that it is their first week, so they need some time to get things straight. Second time was about a week ago. A friend of mine wanted to have lunch at a new place, so I invited him to Asala. We were there at 12:30 PM, we went in, then we were told that they are not open yet! Ironically, the sign at the door says they open at 8:00 AM. I can understand having to open few minutes or even an hour late, but not being closed at lunch time! I was embarrassed and had to go somewhere else (which was a good thing because we tried a new shawarma sandwich at another place that was epic!). I was close by yesterday, so I said let's give this place one last chance, because I really had high hopes in this place knowing that it is an extension of their really good restaurant in Amman. I was SO disappointed. First it took about 15 minutes just to get a shawarma meal, although there was only one other customer at that time. Then, the food was completely different that first time. Fries has degraded, and the chicken shawarma was fatty at tasted like on of those cheap shawarma sandwiches. I barely finished the sandwich and threw half of the fries. I did feel like eating until the next day (today). I think they have decided to follow the same track of most Middle Eastern restaurants where they degrade quality before the raise prices. Might be their bad luck opening at one of the worst times of the US economy, and everything going up in prices and down in quality. But for me, I think I gave this place enough chances and got 3 negative experiences. As much as I love to support Middle Eastern businesses, but I think an honest review is what they need before we find it going out of business due to bas...
Read moreOmg! I forgot to write this review last week… I went to this AMAZING place on my way back from a dental appointment with my husband. This was our first time going there so we ordered three different dinners. The first one was the rotisserie chicken dinner with fries. Let me tell you this chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The meat was so delicious and tender. Even though my mouth was hurting I was determined to take another bite! lol… The second dinner was a steak and chicken rice bowl that my husband had. The rice was moist and both meats were tender and very well seasoned. And yes, I had to try it and it was delicious. The third dinner was the broasted chicken dinner with rice that I ordered to take home for my kids. (Yes I had to sample it 😂) Guys this chicken was crispy and juicy at the same damn time and seasoned to the TEE! On top of all of the amazing food we had the pleasure of meeting the owner and he too was amazing! The atmosphere was on point and the staff was very welcoming and professional. They offer a white herbal coffee to the dining guest and it was definitely a treat! So much so that my husband and I asked for the name of it to purchase. But the owner was kind enough to give us a package to go and he also surprised my husband with extra food💜. We will definitely be going back! Thank you so much for the hospitality we really...
