This place was beyond five stars. I checked out the menu online and went out there for a date with a vague idea of what I wanted. The guy at the counter was super knowledgeable and explained all the cuts of meat in perfect detail. We ordered 2 pounds of meat (just under a pound of Lamb neck, and just over a pound of brisket). It was way too much food for two people, but dang we tried to eat it all. They set up all seven salads and sauces on the table and it's all an overkill of your taste buds. The brisket was phenomenal, but the Lamb neck... just as described to me, had this gamey-smoke flavor that was super intense in specific parts near and inside the bone that's just too hard to explain. You'll either love it or hate it. I took two to-go boxes of meat and rice home and the waitstaff was still insisting we take home to-go boxes of more salads and I just couldn't do it. I turned the take home boxes into an awesome chili the next day. The atmosphere was a weekday afternoon. There was a small group finishing up a late lunch or early dinner when we got there and after that we were the only two people. Typical good rock jams on the speakers, but quiet enough to have a good conversation. More people started to come in around 4 or 5pm when we were heading out. I'm going to do this again soon, but next time it'll be four or five people and two pounds of meat. I think we could get close to clearing the table at that ratio. Food is a 10/10. Professionalism of wait staff is 11/10. I originally picked this place because I was cruising Google maps in the neighborhood and saw "smoked meats" in the title and assumed it was a beef jerky/sausage place. That's not the case, this place is halal I think (no pork or booze) but don't let that fool you on taste. I know Chucks Southern Comfort is right down the street. But Chucks is southern barbecue. And I loooooove Chucks. If Chucks is a place you'd go to treat yourself once a month, then consider Meat Moot a place to treat yourself at least once or twice a year. Like, if Chucks was your best friends birthday then Meat Moot is your birthday rolled into your mom's birthday and your dad's birthday. I'm not messing around with that analogy.

Lunch was a smoking hit today! Upon entering, you observe a clean establishment that’s spacious and inviting. Scan the QR code to pull up the menu. We were new, so the young man working the counter explained how it all works. Choose your meat, and you pay by the pound. We had beef ribs and beef brisket. The ribs require one pound minimum. There were three in our party, and it was our first meal of the day (a little after 1 p.m.) so thought we might need three pounds. I appreciate the team member telling us that would be entirely too much, and he was right. I also appreciated him pulling some of the fat off when weighing. Okay, so you pay for the meat by the pound, and salad, sauces and beverages are included. And we were also able to choose to add tomatoes, garlic and peppers. Yes, please! The placemats at your seat explain the different sauces and salads. It was a culinary adventure. Everything was delightful. We spent an hour tasting every single sauce with the brisket and ribs. Have you ever tried honey on your brisket? It was different AND good. The hostess was attentive and brought drink refills to the table before we needed to ask, and she was also mindful of bringing just enough of the sauces so as to not let any go to waste. If I had to choose a favorite sauce, it would be the garlic sauce, and the arugula salad complimented everything so well. Grab a couple of friends and check this spot out. It’s worth the price. You too may leave with leftovers for dinner or lunch the next day.

UPDATE: I visited this place again because I wanted to give it a second chance, and they always upsell—that’s the worst part.

Before going in, I called to ask about the price of 1 lb of beef brisket, and they told me it would be $51 with tax. But when I went in and bought it, I noticed they gave me more than 1 lb—1.06 lb—and charged me $60 for it!

They always upsell! If I had known they were going to charge me extra for that 0.06 lb, I would have asked for exactly 1 lb. What the hell? This place is already pricey, and on top of that, they push extra charges?

And then there’s this ridiculous $9 “extra person” charge. If two people order, they expect them to get a full beef brisket. But if they order half a beef brisket, they charge an extra $9 just for “serving an extra person.” Excuse me?

Half a beef brisket is more than enough for two people—how can you decide if it’s enough or not? Why do you have this rule that if two people are dining, they must order a full beef brisket? This is just blatant upselling. Absolutely ridiculous.

Old review: I called to place an order for the lunch special. A lady answered my call, and when I told her I wanted to order a lunch special, she asked me to wait. After 4-5 minutes, she came back and ended the call without saying anything. Since I didn’t have much time before the lunch special hours ended, I decided to call again and place the order while I was on my way. However, I was treated this way instead.

When I finally arrived with my friend, we ordered a half brisket. The employee tried to upsell us, saying it wouldn’t be enough for two people, but we chose not to listen.

Later, we asked the server to refill our Dynamite sauce for the third time. This wasn’t unreasonable since even one person eating a half brisket would likely request three refills. We were mindful about not over-consuming. The server said she needed to ask someone if she could refill it. When she returned, she brought piping hot sauce that wasn’t the Dynamite sauce. We asked her again for the correct sauce, but she brought a different sauce once more. I’m not sure if it was intentional or not.

Even though we paid, we still felt guilty for dining in. The staff kept staring at us, making us feel very uncomfortable and awkward.

This was the first time we experienced this. None of the servers seemed interested in helping us, which was very different from our last visit. Previously, when I went with my family and ordered a lot of food, the servers were attentive, checking in frequently to see if we needed anything. This time, however, the service was horrible, and they made us feel so unwelcome.

I don’t think I will ever go back to eat...

Meat Moot is an absolute gem for all meat enthusiasts out there! I recently had the pleasure of visiting this carnivore’s haven and was blown away by the outstanding service, melt-in-your-mouth beef brisket, and succulent beef ribs. It truly exceeded all my expectations and left me craving for more.

From the moment I walked through the doors of Meat Moot, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions I had about their menu. Their passion for their craft truly shone through, and it made the entire experience all the more enjoyable.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the beef brisket and beef ribs. I can confidently say that Meat Moot serves some of the best I’ve ever had. The beef brisket was perfectly smoked to perfection, with a beautiful bark on the outside and a tender, juicy interior. Each bite was a flavorful explosion, and the balance of smokiness and seasoning was spot on. As for the beef ribs, they were fall-off-the-bone tender, with a luscious marbling that added a heavenly richness to every mouthful. It’s clear that the chefs at Meat Moot are masters of their craft.

In addition to the exceptional meat offerings, Meat Moot also provides a delightful range of side sauces , potatoes and salads. We even asked for more and they graciously delivered

The ambiance at Meat Moot was cozy and inviting, making it an ideal place to gather with friends or enjoy a satisfying meal solo. The attention to detail in the decor and the overall atmosphere contributed to the overall positive experience. It’s evident that the team at Meat Moot understands the importance of creating a welcoming environment that complements their outstanding culinary creations.

If you’re a meat lover looking for a place to satisfy your cravings, look no further than Meat Moot. With their impeccable service, mouthwatering beef brisket, and delectable beef ribs, they have truly set the bar high for barbecue establishments. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their enticing menu offerings. Meat Moot, you’ve won me over as a loyal customer, and I can’t recommend you enough!

Greeting Foodzies, today we travel down south for all my southside FoodZies. We went to Meat Moot at 7990 s Harlem in Burbank. It’s a moderate size restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. The interior is kind of rustic, but euro at the same time. The menu is used from a QR code as you enter the restaurant. Once you make your selection on your phone, you relay it to the people working in the service area. Once you choose what meat you want the rest is the same for everybody. They have a nice variety of different beef and lamb, cuts (beef brisket, beef, shank, lamb, shank, beef ribs). Each meal is served with different Indian spices on top, and surrounding your cut of meat are different types of peppers, potatoes, cherry tomatoes and roasted garlic. Also included in your meal, our four sides you get mashed potatoes, a cucumber tomato, kind of pico de gallo minus the onion, arugula salad with some red onions and coleslaw. All three very flavorful the coleslaw is large cut and refreshing. The cucumber tomato salad is a diced cucumber and tomato with a light oil And the arugula with the red onions also in a light oil sauce. A company these dishes are eight different sauces each in their own individual cup for dipping, you have everything from Honey, tzatziki, barbecue sauce, a vinegar based hot sauce, yogurt, another chopped tomato sauce, a relish type sauce, and a turmeric sauce. Each of these sauces when mixed with the different types of meats brings out a whole new flavor. There is plenty of food so you will not leave hungry, the beef brisket, and the lamb shank were extremely tender. The only thing I found to be not so good was the potatoes were kind of cold and unevenly cooked; somewhere tender others had a hard skin and hard. Also, I would’ve liked a breakdown of all of the sauces when they were delivered; we had to more or less figure it out for ourselves. That aside, we will definitely be going back, we really enjoyed this meal. Another fun fact, all of the lunch meals are only $19.95 each and only includes the beef brisket and the lamb shank. The dinner on the other hand is $46.95 for each meal and has a larger variety of meat. I give this restaurant 5 stars. I hope you try it for yourself, and let me know what you think. If you would like to see the rest of the videos, follow me on TikTok (smoking papa) Ciao...
