Hommies Shawarma - Chicago — Restaurant in Stickney Township

Very friendly workers, but the shawarma is nothing to rave about, not even close. That is the only reason they receive a 2 star. The chicken shawarma wrap has nothing but sauce..so bland, WHERE ARE THE PICKLES in the sandwich? Also, why would anyone in their right mind make a ranch (with perhaps a speck of garlic) sauce? This is not authentic and it tasted terrible to swallow ranch with chicken shawarma 🤢. I would fire anyone who even invented this idea. It's probably to appeal to the infamously terrible & unhealthy American palate - where grease, fat, and highly processed dairy are sanctified. Also, the chicken is chunky rather than shaved.

There are manyyy shawarma spots around so competition is tough. This place may have good reviews now, but they'll average out over time, assuming their business survives around those around it. It's a shame because I love friendly & punctual employees, they deserve to succeed..but it's a restaurant so the food is the top priority here. You can have great service but it's nothing without quality food. I am sorry, but this is my opinion. Hopefully, other items on their menu turn out better. 🤷🏻

I don’t know if people are told to leave 5 star reviews but this place isn’t even 1 star quality!

I visit my grandparents every week and we try to go to different places to eat. This was our first time trying it on Thursday afternoon.

First, the portions are ridiculous, tiny shawarma wrap, amount of fries for a kid and a small container of sauce for a large meal! Plus fake cola 🤦🏻‍♀️

Second, the taste is not shawarma at all, it tastes weird and not like other shawarma spots. It’s either the meat, oil or way it’s cooked because this stuff is weird. You definitely will get tasty shawarma how it’s suppose to taste at manyyyy other places.

Third, I’m convinced people are either tripping in these reviews, asked to leave great reviews or just friends and family of the owners hyping up a restaurant...
