This is the first time eating here at Tony’s Mexican Grill. I can’t find anything redeeming to say about this restaurant. The service was subpar and the food was awful. I grew up in Pilsen and moved out to the suburbia this past year. We read the reviews about this place so we were sure we were going to have some pretty good Mexican food. My Bistec a la Mexicana was so greasy I couldn’t enjoy it at all. No flavor, I had to add salt and lime to give it some flavor and cut the oil. My wife had her usual when we eat Mexican ( Carne Asada a la Tampequena) the enchiladas were so dry. The worse she’s ever had. The carne asada was so greasy it left an after taste in your mouth and no flavor. I don’t know who was in the kitchen tonight but they need to stay out of the kitchen. When they asked if we wanted to take our leftovers home we said no thank you. They didn’t notice that our plates were still full. Yes the quantity of food given is a lot. It is such a waste if the quality is so bad. So much for having leftovers for lunch. There were 3 of us tonight, no appetizers, 3 beers, 2 Diet RC’s in a serve yourself styrofoam cup. This was a $70 lesson learned. Maybe we should have just had a taco. So disappointed. Next time I will just stop at El Milagro in Pilsen on the way home to the...

When I tell you this restaurant has seriously disappointed me I can speak from the truth. This restaurant receives zero stars from me if google allowed it. Every time I come there my order is either wrong or I’m charged extra for things that come with the dinner and today was the icing on the cake. How do you advertise what comes with a dinner but say that it only comes with select dinners but you have it listed on your menu? I’ve lived in Lyons for 10 years and always frequent Zacotaco but gave them a try because zacotaco was always busy. If you’re in the Lyons area don’t bother eating here. There’s always new staff, inconsistency with the flavor of the food, and very unorganized. Take your business else where. You will not regret it. There are other taco spots in the area that care more for their customers. You’ll find yourself having more of a headache each and every time. Oh and I went over to Tony’s restaurant to voice my complaint since they own the establishment but guess what, the owner was too busy to...

I ordered the big and nasty also known as the chicken burrito. The rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, and burrito all tasted the same... Bland and terrible. The meat in the burrito tasted like it was stewed in hot dog water. I've never had such a bad burrito. We paid for our food and told the staff that is was terrible and they apologized but I don't understand how this place has a 4.5 rating. Do that good cooks leave early? Do they cook the food in the morning and just keep reheating it all day? That would explain the terrible rice and beans. My wife ordered tacos. The shells were wrong. She tried the meat in my burrito and spit it back out. They did have 2 good things that we ate-the chips and salsa. Also their water was very tasty compared to the food. I wish that I had just stuck with the water and the chips with salsa. Pitiful food. I didn't realize that you could serve people slop but hey if you want to try some, go to Rikys and order their chicken...

Now this place was awesome. We were at the zoo nearby and it was raining. So instead of driving to Cicero for some tacos we too a chance and came here. The staff here were nice and helpful. The food tasted really food and was reasonably priced. Pro tip 1: if they say that their salsa is spicy, it is very spicy (in a good way). We warmed up in minutes after having that spicy salsa with some nachos. Pro tip 2: The portion sizes are enormous. I usually finish all the food on the plate at any place that I go. I hate carrying leftovers. But tonight I couldn’t do it. I had a Chimichanga and I could barely finish half of it. The last photo I have attached is my half finished plate which I packed. My friends who ordered tacos dinner also had to pack their food. So it would be a reasonable estimate to have two people share a dinner plate. All in all, a great place with good food and good people. I highly recommend this place.

We visited Rikys today after a long day at the Zoo. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by staff who asked us to choose where we would like to sit. Our waiter greeted us and brought out our drinks, chips and salsa within a few minutes. We opted to go for just the tacos which were DELICIOUS. I of course got the vegetarian which consisted of stewed potatoes, rice tomatoes and lettuce. It was a different take but I will differently order again . My fiancé opted for the chorizo tacos which he equally enjoyed. After ordering our food arrived in about 10 minutes. All of the staff were very attentive and just a short distance away if we needed anything . Overall, all of the food is fairly priced so if you want to get 20 tacos without breaking the bank you could! We will definitely visit again. Total cost (2 ppl): $23 Rating: 9/10

Cowgirl Burrito A perfect workday lunch option. Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Just good taste and on-point nutrition. A burrito filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, stewed potatoes, and sliced avocado. Soft & gooey because of the potatoes, creamy and rich because of the chicken and avocado. Came alongside, beans, rice, guac, and salsa. Everything from the flavor to the texture to the consistency was done just right. Pretty balanced in terms of nutrition too. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 A hole in the wall kind of a place for authentic Mexican cuisine. Don’t expect fancy interiors, you just pay for the food here. The service is good and everything is priced appropriately. Worth a visit if you’re close to this Chicago Suburban restaurant.
