Our server Angela had a bad attitude no matter how hard she tried to fake it. She clearly got annoyed and let a huge annoyed sigh when we asked for kids menus for our niece and nephew. Slammed her tray down on the table behind us after she brought our drinks. Brought our Cole slaw to us with our hot food when it should be delivered before the main course. Never asked or brought us refills. She brought my husband a left overs box but when I asked her for one it was like I was asking for too much. Sitting there waiting for our check and then I see she gave it to my 10 year old nephew. Asked her if she knew how the honey sauce tasted on the burger and said to I don’t eat burgers so I wouldn’t know but she said it as if I offended her for asking. If you serve food you should say good things about the product you serve! Had to ask the cashier for a to go cup and coffee. Felt completely unwelcome and uncomfortable in your supposed family restaurant. Should have went to IHOP down the street! I know when I worked at Bob Evans if I had treated my customers like garbage I would have been let go! She was also rude to the people at the...
Read moreThe wife and I decided to go here for breakfast. And, once we got our menus, we were very excited to see that Bob Evans had finally brought back one of our old favorites, their Fried Chicken!
However, it was explained to us that the "fried" Chicken was actually the Broasted Chicken that they drop in a fryer for a few minutes to get it crispy.
I'm not sure who taught them to do that. But, where I'm from, that is NOT how you fry chicken! So, we passed on that option and went with our old stand-bys.
The food was good. And the service was too. But, the Executives at Bob Evans should NOT be trying to pass off broasted as fried. At the risk of stating the obvious, it's called broasting because it's a different cooking technique.
It doesn't even taste the same! What they call juicy, translates to my tongue as greasy. I've had it before, when they first brought it out. And I decided then that it wasn't for me.
So, needless to say, I was just a little upset to find Bob Evans' offering of their "New" Fried Chicken, to in reality be a re-branding of what they've been selling for years now. Broasted is NOT fried! They really need to...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing and bad experience. Any individuals with special dietary restrictions, they(BE)didn't put too much effort to accommodate and/or fill the needs of meals requested, even though it was written on their menus. Plus they changed a standard item ( loaded baked potato, and added Salt ? ( Sea salt???) Baked into the item) and no notification was made, either orally or written on any of the menus. They then charged me for the baked potato and replacement item. Diet restrictions and allergies we're mentioned to the server prior to the order. Manager provided a new bill where all said items were conviently put in one charge which was more than the said items ordered. I attempted to demonstrate to the manager the break down cost of individual items vs. his combo price he did acknowledge there was a variance and proceeded to tell me he would charge me what was on the original bill. I said no because the original bill still had the overcharge with the baked potato.Do NOT patronize the Northfield Bob Evans store. I did call a couple other locations and they acknowledged the unfortunate event...
