I hate to give this review because I previously had good experiences at this restaurant on numerous occasions. This time it was clearly different. First sign that something was off was the waitress comes to the table and ask if we are ready. I say yes and that my mom is going to go first. She turns around and helps the other table instead. I brush it off as maybe she didn't hear me. We order at around 9:55.
So we are waiting and seeing other tables around us being seated and getting food out to them around 10:15. We are still waiting to be acknowledged by the waitress who hasn't comes back to even check on us. My mom gets her food at 10:20 that was brought out by another waitress. My mom's egg was cold which means it was likely sitting in the prep window for sometime. I'm still waiting on my food. At 10:30 I have now been waiting 35 mins on an omelet. Our waitress finally comes back and said it will be out shortly. I just ask her to cancel the order since it has been so long. At 10:35 the omelet finally comes out 40 mins after I ordered it. Someone who I assume may have been a manager brings it out. I told her that I had canceled the order due to the long wait and other people around us getting food in spite of arriving after us and also numerous tables being empty. She states they are short staffed and apologized. Tell that to the people who ordered at 10:05 and had food by 10:20. Also, the omelet she brought out was poorly made and looks like it was just thrown together minutes before by the cook. See pictures below! Who puts cheese on top of an omelet and doesn't cut up the meat? The meal was given to me for free even though I said that I didn't want it prior to it even being prepared most likely.
There is clearly a distinction in the customers and service today because my mother and I are the only African Americans at the restaurant while everyone else is being serviced by wait staff in a timely manner. Maybe have been a coincidence, but I'm not holding my breath that it was. Sadly, I won't be returning to this First Watch location after...
Read moreI am highly disappointed in this location. Let me first start by saying I truly enjoy dining at First Watch for breakfast. But today, I’m thinking about finding a new place. I usually don’t dine at this specific location, but since I was in the area & craving breakfast, I decided to go. I walk in , there is 2 people in front of me. The first one was a white man, he was greeted by the host & asked how many. Then he was politely seated. Next, there were two older white ladies, greeted the same way and taken to there table. I was next, the first thing the host says to me “are you waiting for a DoorDash?” Not sure why she assumed I was waiting for a DoorDash when I was in line just like the other guest. I responded with no & said I’ll be dining alone. Cool, she takes me to my table. I sit patiently waiting to be greeted by my server. As I’m waiting, at least 3 different servers walks directly pass me multiple times. I’m still sitting there waiting to be greeted, no one comes. I allow 5 minutes to pass by to see if things were changed and STILL NO ONE COMES TO MY TABLE. I finally get up & the same host is taking someone else to a new table, in passing I say “I guess no one is taking my order today”. She says “oh he never came out, I can get someone”. I replied “absolutely not, it’s fine” and then I left. I cannot believe the way I was treated. Of course I am a black young lady, just trying to come to enjoy a late breakfast, but clearly they didn’t want my business. I will NEVER come back into that location if I ever decide to eat at FIRST WATCH again . I’ve never been treated so invisible. That was simply rudeeeee & disgusting. They should be ashamed of their behavior to allow someone to sit and not be greeted. Furthermore, the two parties right before were greeted within two minutes of being seating. I’ve been a server before, I know how it works and this was...
Read moreI used to frequent this location often when I lived in the area and recently came back in town for a wedding, very excited to revisit First Watch. The food was 4/5 as usual, but the service was absolutely abysmal. My husband and I each ordered a bloody mary and the waiter asked for my ID. As I opened my purse to get it, he laughed at me and said he was just kidding. I'm 30, I know I'm not a spring chicken anymore but I respect service workers asking for ID per their protocol, and it felt callous to be laughed at for honoring his request. The service got worse from there, as they only had one bloody mary left, and he mentioned the second one ordered would be comped, as if it was a favor rather than the result of them not having the drink available. Then, my husbands' (seasonal breakfast sandwich) and friends' (market hash) plates came out, and I was left waiting for my eggs benedict for another 10 minutes. Since I was in polite company, they didn't want to begin eating without me, so their food (while delicious) was lukewarm by the time mine arrived. If I had known my meal would have taken longer to arrive, I would have picked something else... however it appears to have been a problem with the kitchen or runner, not the meal ordered. We were there with a friend who had not been to First Watch but lives nearby, and unfortunately this experience also put a sour taste in her mouth and she is unlikely to return. Luckily, I have many fond memories of First Watch and no longer live nearby to have another lackluster experience...
