Watch out for deceptive sales tactics! I went in for a phone upgrade and the salesman convinced me to also buy a Verizon Ellipsis tablet he claimed was only going to be $50 due to a promotion. I agreed because I was under the impression that that's all I had to pay for the tablet. He also kept re-iterating how my monthly Verizon bill would be lower than what I was paying before. After I checked my Verizon account the next day, I realized that would not be the case because the tablet included additional fees that were not disclosed initially. Even though the tablet itself was only $50, I would be stuck with a $40 activation fee and a 2 year contract that included a $10/month line fee. So that's an additional $280 for something that I thought was otherwise free. Not to mention, the salesman added a $9/month tablet insurance, which I definitely didn't ask for. I went back to the store the next day to return the tablet due to the deceptive advertising and was charged a $75 restocking fee (another fee I was not told about, of course). Had I not returned the tablet within 3 days after purchasing it, the $40 activation fee would not be waived. Also, if I had waited more than 14 days to cancel the tablet service, I'd be charged a $175 early termination fee. The salesman never mentioned any of this to me! I found that out later when I was returning the tablet. I guess I probably should've read the fine print but after being a Verizon customer for a decade with no issues, I was not expecting shady business practices from one of their retailers. I will be contacting Verizon corporate office to try to get the restocking fee refunded since the store refused to do so in spite of them selling me the tablet under...
Read moreHaving worked as a Customer Service Agent for the Airlines for 25 years, I am well aware of the varied challenges working with the public presents. My son anddaughter in law gifted my husband and I with new phones, a smart watch, and a tablet for Christmas. To work out the jumble of details to accomplish this was no small feat. The only reason this was accomplished was because they had the good fortune to have Ruthann at the Macedonia Ohio store(near Red Wing), be their point of contact. To say she is a rarity for Cutomer Service still doesn't describe her adequately. She spent literally hours to arrange the, upgrades, explain the promotions, determine the best Lans to yield the best savings, offered herself to be available on Christmas Eve to finalize the decisions that had to be made. She offered this with a guarantee that she would be happy to be available to complete the order. She made this offer without hesitation, assuring a of us that she often was available to her customers during her personal time. My suggestion is that anytime you hire a new employee, regardless of location, have that new hire shadow Ruthann to give that person the chance to be the best , most knowledgeable employee you expect them to be. Ruthann is the bar that every employee should be judged against. We were beyond fortunate that she represented...
Read morecheating company! the is a verizon authorized company, NOT verizon, they put a big name "Verizon" on the on the outdoor wall to cheat people.
I was asked to sign a document without showing details, i was told it is for tax of 5 phones. after signature, it got the full document, it include a list of charges I did not asked to do, data transfer from old phones to new phones for $213.44 ($39.99 for each plus tax). I clearly stated i can transfer data myself, Andrew said he can help me to make my life easy without mention any charges. even at the moment asking me sign the document he did not say anything about the charges on data transfering.
moreover, he only work on 4 phones since i only bring 4 old phones, and one of the 4 was not done successfully.
In addition to the cheating $213 charge, I have to say their service is not professional and not polite at all. my verizon first bill was messed up and it took me hours to contact verizon to correct the bill. (it charge me 6 lines activation fee when i just have 5 lines, put $17/month/line device protection fee without asking my permission, $10/moth/line more service fee than promised ,...). before the business done he is so nice, after payment done he even do not want...
