Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Macomb Township

This is a harsh rating but they earned it. Before I complain let me say the food is down right delicious. The cold subs or the hot subs "Mike's way" are both great. I have 2 complaints. I have visited 4 times total over a 10 month span. Week nights and weekend afternoons. Every time I'm here the store is a mess. Used napkins on tables, straw wrappers on the floor, general garbage spread around the dining area. The first time I noticed this they were slammed, 10 people in line, no biggie your busy. The next time there were 2 employees I seen working and I was the only customer in there the entire time, one of them could have easily wiped the tables and swept up the trash in 5 minutes but this doesn't seem to be a concern. Now the bigger issue. On 2 of my 4 visits and with mostly different groups of employees there was some obvious in fighting going on that was severely affecting the operation of the store. One employee walked on to the line and proclaimed "If she's not doing nothing then neither am I". She then walked off the line in to the back. I looked in the back and seen her issue, another employee sitting on a stack of boxes doing nothing. This was the same visit with 10 people in line mind you. This left one employee very begrudgingly operating the grill and one poor middle aged lady trying to do the rest on her own. It was awkward, obvious, uncomfortable, and just very poorly ran. I had a similar situation on another visit that wasn't nearly as busy but there were 3 people working this time and one of them had just decided to not do anything and stand in the doorway between the line and the back room and just watch. It was obvious this person wasn't on break either by the body language and attitude from the other 2 people working. The food is good but they need to either find willing workers or fix what ever there doing that's making so...

This Jersey Mike's, I must say, is always an outstanding experience from start to finish! This review is long overdue.

From the moment I walked through the door, I'm greeted with warm smiles and a genuine enthusiasm that instantly make me feel welcome. The staff at this Jersey Mike's truly goes above and beyond to ensure every customer has a memorable experience. They are not only friendly and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and eager to assist with any questions or dietary preferences. I almost exclusively eat red meat only so it is rather hard to find food I can eat without making it at home. Jersey Mikes has me covered!

What sets this particular Jersey Mike's apart is the passion and skill that the team puts into their job. I've visited various locations before, but this one takes the crown for its consistently exceptional food preparation.

Beyond the amazing food, the team's attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness is commendable. The restaurant is always immaculate, reflecting the team's dedication to providing a pleasant environment for their guests. It's clear that they take pride in their work and genuinely care about creating a memorable dining experience. Thats hard to say in todays day and age. Most times you enter an establishment such as this you are not welcomed with smiles but like you are an inconvenience. Not with this team. You have an absolutely spectacular restaurant and staff. The sandwiches are always fresh and I frequent the restaurant often. However, it’s the staff that make the experience great. Lloyd is a phenomenal employee. I walked in just as the staff took a very large online order. Between that and the lunch rush, Lloyd was a machine; greeting everyone with contagious positivity, working the grill and taking orders left and right. He and his fellow staff members crushed that lunch rush and did it with a level or professionalism you don’t often see anymore in the service industry. Do what you can to hold onto an employee like Lloyd, because he has a bright future in anything he plans to do. I will continue to frequent this Jersey Mike’s not only for the great food, but the awesome atmosphere your staff provides.
