Great American Cookies — Restaurant in Macon

One of the 3 employees showed me the kid size cup. I asked for 4 of those. Then they served the ice cream into adult small cups and handed them to my kids. I pointed out that I wanted the kid size. They took the cups back, moved the ice cream to the kids' cups, and then put the remainder back into the main serving container. One of the male employees was eating a candy bar over the open ice cream fridge. The other male employee was sitting at the cash register eating ice cream.

I asked my kids if they wanted chocolate or strawberry. The female employee asked my kids if they wanted cotton candy ice cream. She didn't offer them a taste test to see if they would actually like that flavor. One of my kids ended up not liking the cotton candy flavor. He told the female employee, and she fixed him another ice cream.

Then she said ma'am you have to pay for that. I said okay but you could have said that before fixing him another cup. She then made it sound like I was stealing. She said that he ate half of it and then said that he didn't like it. I said no he tasted it and then said he didn't like it. He didn't eat half of it. We've never had this issue before. She then said that we should have done taste tests. They never offered taste tests to my children. I paid for the ice cream.

I went to the bathroom with my kids. My stroller was next to the table. When we came out, the female employee threw away my kids' ice creams. She then offered 1 free ice cream to replace the 2 remaining that she had thrown in the trash. She claimed she thought that we had left, even though we were still in the store in the bathroom and my stroller was right there. She continued to argue with me and repeatedly offer a free cup of ice cream that she had already prepared (before we came out of the bathroom) even though I said "no thank you" 3 times.

Unsanitary. Unprofessional. Rude employees. Not child friendly. Not customer friendly. Would...

I would typically give 4 stars given my previous experience at MB, but something really strange happened today when I stopped by. I ordered my typical two scoops of ice cream on a cone as usual, and the young man who served me did everything right. All I asked for was a small cup to flip my cone onto for my drive home. But then out of the blue, another worker barged in and told him off in front of me that he was serving me too much ice cream on my cone. I personally didn't think so since it was the usual amount I always got before, but I did not argue since I thought she may have been following some new regulations or something. But when the guy was about to hand me my ice-cream, leaving the remainder of what the ice-cream on the slab, that same lady barged in again, took the cone out of his hands and scraped the ice cream on my cone until it was completely perpendicular with the cone's edge...in front of me! I've never in my life eaten a flat top ice cream from an acutual creamery until now! There's regulation abiding, and then there's just bad customer service. I hope I never have to experience such a thing from my favorite...

I came here for a door dash order when I walked in it was 3 people in front of me .I went to register to tel them about the door dash they said they haven’t started it yet and they have to get the line done first I understood the people who came before me . But that Is unfair how people are steady coming in and they still haven’t started the order they order people come in is how the ordered should be made . This is horrible ! I will not be bringing my personal business back neither am I accepting any more doordashes here ! You shouldn’t sign up for something you can handle . Very disappointed!
