Best Chinese food in Macon and surrounding area. Everything I order there is always great.
Our typical orders are House Lo Mein, Chicken or Beef with Broccoli or Egg Foo Yong. Occasionally, when ordered near closing, the egg rolls have been a little greasy, but usually they are great. The Crab Rangoon is as good as I've had anywhere. I do miss the Fried Dumplings they used to have. They were the best I'd had. The type they use now are ok, but not nearly as good.
As for anyone being rude, I have never, in the 10 years I've been ordering food from Hong Kong, experienced anything resembling rudeness. There are two women who pretty much run the place (one is the owner), one or both are usually there. They work long hours, and even in the cold months I know it's hot in that type of kitchen. Yet, they are always pleasant.
English is not their first language, you can't stray too far from what's on the menu if you call in (their English speaking sons are usually there to help if you are physically in the restaurant.) I have had pleasant small talk with both of these women on numerous occasions, but you must bear in mind that they will not always understand unless you take care to be very clear and patient with explanations.
There have only been a few unsatisfactory orders in 10 years, but each time they have made it right. As far as Chinese Food restaurants outside of New York, this place wins my vote for best...
Read moreDo not order over the phone unless you speak their language. The lady I spoke with (which I am guessing is one of the owners) had the hardest time taking my order. The lady does not speak english very well and tries to talk over you while you speak. She read my order back over 5 times before we got it "correct". Then we spent another 5 minutes trying to correctly write down my phone number.
Just as a side note: If you have been to other Chinese restaurants you may have also noticed that when you order "Chow Mein" you get fried noodles with whatever type of meat you choose... Since i don't speak Chinese or Cantonese i cant say for sure what the exact difference is between Chow Mein and Lo Mein but if you order Chow Mein here you will not receive noodles. You get vegetables and the type of meat you order.
So to summarize... The food is good but the bad customer service spoils a good meal so if at all possible do not order over the phone unless you speak their language. Go into the restaurant and show them what you want. Also if you want noodles order Lo Mein instead...
Read moreIf giving zero stars was an option I’d give negative 5,000 stars .. this was the worst food I’ve ever ordered my entire life and this restaurant needs to be shut down immediately they have roaches and the food is terrible and not at all how it’s supposed to be I ordered chicken fried rice from this establishment and have no earthly clue what they sent me . I went in to see if they would refund me or correct my order and I saw three roaches and just said never mind and left. I’d be wrong if I didn’t tell my story and stop other people from being so disrespected and disappointed. The image attached to this post is what they sent as chicken fried rice . I’ve never seen chicken like that not even boiled chicken and it’s literally maybe only three pieces and the rice is yellow not fried just yellow rice and there’s no vegetables only onions. This restaurant needs to be shut down and I’ll be reporting them to the health inspectors because this is unacceptable...
