S & S Cafeteria — Restaurant in Macon

Okay I just left. The Take Out Shop is open. So I go in and hold the door for an elderly female coming behind me. We're the only two customers. It's just after 3p on 10-16-17. There are 4 female employees which are 2 young females, I don't have to say race, And 2 elderly females. The first young female takes my order with a "I can give 2 craps" attitude, Like she got somewhere to be and don't wanna be bothered. The second young female standing around not really doing anything, like I said it's slow. My order was done and she was drinking. The two other elder females were moving around working. The first elder got my ticket, looked at the bread and went straight to the back. The other female standing around worked on the elder customer's SHORT ORDER. The woman wasn't satisfied with her bread. It was hard to her. Instead of the employee going to the back to check for more. She talks the lady into getting a different type of bread and not what she ordered, then had the nerve to tell her, they all gonna be hard. The old woman left. Immediately the other elder employee working my order came back with a pan full of bread. I went to the door and told the old woman "hey they got fresh bread" the woman got out and came back in. I told the woman who helped me that she needed fresher bread. The young dummy came and still tried to justify that all bread is hard. The old woman felt the fresher bread and was pleased that it was softer and was what she wanted! She only got Mac and Cheese and Cracklin Bread! How hard is that? The woman helping me then finished my order. I tried to tip but ahe said she couldn't take it because she was not allowed. I thanked her and told her I was gonna leave a review. This place gets one star for that one lovely woman who did her job as professional as possible. These kids don't have a clue. Go to the one that's located on Riverside Dr! The one one Bloomfield is not preferred. As I was leaving that young dummy was still trying to justify not doing anything and how the bread was sitting there all day. That was the point...

TERRIBLE Experience - S&S RUINED THANKSGIVING!!!I I will never place a catering order with S&S again. I placed my order 5 days prior to Thanksgiving. I requested 900am pickup time and was informed I can pickup any time after 0900am and to pickup at the main entrance. Since I was informed could pickup any time after 0900am, I decided to pickup a little closer to meal time to allow for fresher food and when I arrived I was instructed to go behind the building. For some reason, S&S decided to mingle the curbside pickup with catered orders.. Catered orders are PLANNED and surbside/pickup are not. Meaning the priority should be catered/PLANNED orders vs the other. I STOOD in line for over an hour and ended-up with hurt back. They RAN OUT OF BAKED BEANS (KEEP IN MIND THEY COOKED BEANS FOR MY ORDER BUT GAVE AWAY TO SOMEONE FROM CURBSIDE LINE.) It turns out both GENERAL MANAGER (ERIC HALL) and STORE MANAGER (MR. BRADY) were there and fully aware of the chaos and did NOTHING. On top of this, the food was COLD. I was supposed to know to request hot food???) I paid in advance is the ONLY REASON I did not leave. S&S RUINED MY THANKSGIVING!!!!! I want to be reimbursed. It's the right thing to do when you mess-up. I've been calling but Manager not avail and I'm still a little emotional to go in person. Lack of empathy will cause ANGER...to any normal person. FIX THIS THE BEST...

My first experience of S&S Cafeteria was amazing. Mrs. Nora & Mrs.Jean greeted us with a smile, very attentive to our food requests and fixed our hearty plates . My fiance had meatloaf, mash potatoes, dinner roll & mac-cheese. I had the liver w/onions, rice & gravy, turnip greens, and cornbread(tray). The sweet tea is definitely sweet with a strong brew. Perfect! The servings are heavy and enough to take home. Mrs. Molly, was our waitress. She's such a sweetheart and very attentive to us! This restaurant reminds us of Morrisons Cafeteria years ago in Tallahassee. Soul food was never the same after Morrisons closed over twenty years ago in Tallahassee. S&S Cafeteria, reminds us of Morrisons. This place is a 10!! My fiance' and I most definitely will be adding this restaurant on our "go to!"
