Reason for Rating, Food Quality & Service:
We ordered Kadai Paneer and Channa Masala. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience with the Kadai Paneer. The oil used in the dish seemed off, and within 15-25 minutes, both my friend and I developed a throat irritation, which was due to amount & quality of the oil. The rice also wasn’t cooked well, as the grains felt solid and undercooked.
On the positive side, the Channa Masala was decent and tasted okay.
Service: The service was a bit mixed. The young lady serving us was friendly and smiling, which we appreciated, but the other gentleman was less engaging, and didn’t seem very enthusiastic. We asked if we could substitute the batura with something else, and while he didn’t offer an alternative, the lady did suggest Channa Masala, which was thoughtful.
Overall, while the food presentation looked nice, we found the quality and the heavy use of oil in the dishes to be a bit overwhelming. It didn’t meet our expectations for a good dining experience. In our opinion, the taste was okay but not the...
Read moreWe traveled 2.5 hours to eat specifically at this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone craving Indian cuisine. Here's why:
Poor service: The staff seemed to prioritize American customers over others. Our order was taken by a server who struggled to communicate effectively. She asked if I was eating my naan with pav bhaji , which led to a series of mistakes. Our dishes arrived out of order, with naan arriving halfway through our tandoori course and spring rolls arriving after the biryani. We specifically requested mild biryani, but it was served too spicy.
Food: The non-vegetarian dishes lacked flavor and taste. The meat was tough and hard to bite. The only redeeming dishes were the pav bhaji and spring rolls.
Atmosphere: The music was excessively loud, making it difficult for the staff to understand our orders.
Overall, our experience was subpar, and we left feeling...
Read moreI ordered on doordash for the first time last night. I had the best Indian food I've had from a restaurant in a long time. Portions were perfect. The level of spice in us was perfect and I have acid reflux. I also have a lot of mental health issues around food and I called ahead of time to find out the size of the mango lassi which is 16 oz. And they couldn't have been nicer over the phone. I'm a small business owner and I'm a henna artist, so I'm very happy to find such an authentic South Asian restaurant in Macon Georgia. Definitely give this place a try and if you can afford it get catering with them! I plan on reaching out to them as a small business owner for marketing services and potentially creative collaborations So hopefully they will see this and reply soon! Just know that this review is coming from a happy customer. Hopefully you will see @prachihennaart content with Bombay...
