Hinata Japanese Steakhouse & Seafood — Restaurant in Madeira Beach

Tonight is a quiet Tuesday. When I came in, it was about 6 pm. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and their chef had just finished cooking for them so I was seated at the next hibachi table by myself. My order was taken (filet and shrimp combo) and I was served my soup and salad. Nice light broth and the salad was lettuce and grated carrot with a lovely sesame dressing. Then my chef came out to start his show just for me. I'm sorry I didn't catch his name. He said, "Watch your eyebrows" and made a huge explosive fire in the middle of the grill. Then he clanged and twirled his utensils and displayed his talents. Next came the food. A great variety of veggies, rice, noodles, shrimp and steak, cut with a very sharp knife and seasoned and served with precision. And oh, the dipping sauces--white for the shrimp and ginger/soy for the filet. Yum! We talked as he cooked and I found out he is from Korea, but has also lived in Miami and Michigan. HORRIBLE!!!! If I could give this place a negative 0 I would!!! The staff is extremely rude. We had a party of 7 and sat for 1 hour waiting to be seated, not to mention another party came in after us and was seated before us. Once i brought it to the waiters attention she told me that the people that had been seated was a call in. However, this place doesn’t take reservations. The waiter got really loud and nasty with me to the point I had to get loud back with her. I feel like they are racist and i would never in my life come back to this place again!!!! Even after we were seated we still waited another hour before we were served water. Terrible terrible terrible!!!! Do not go here unless u have to hrs to sit and eat even if u make a reservation staff is extremely rude 15mins for drinks and I had to stop and ask for them for it.30minutes for soup and salad.had a reservation was wanting for an hour and 30mins at our table and got a disgusting attitude from the waitress when I asked how much longer we would half to to wait for our meal our kids were starving she yelled at me and my mother that the only had 3 chiefs and it would be at least another 30minutes if they couldn't accommodate us and or reservation they should have told us when we arrived I was pissed not to mention the constant dirty looks we got because we had to ask for basic services DO NOT GO HERE!
