To start, you have to pay before you receive your food,
Because of this, the staff don't seem to really care after you place your order. Food took a bit of time to come out.
Pho The pho that was ordered was very good, however there were significantly less "toppings" in the soup compared to the standard from all the other pho restaurants that I have been to. Our table had ordered one regular pho, and a large pho (extra $2.00). However, when both arrived, they were the exact same size, same amount of noodles, and same meat amount. Disappointing.
Eggrolls The eggrolls looked as if the restaurant had ordered frozen eggrolls in bulk and simply air fried or fried them. Although the taste was "ok," there was no lettuce, or vegetables that came with the eggrolls. It was simply a few rolls and the sauce. Every other pho restaurant I have been to has successfully provided the usual lettuce, carrots, radish, etc.
Service Servers are not attentive and will not come unless you raise your voice or really catch your attention. Couldn't even refill our waters! Workers look pissed when you ask for anything.
Pork Banh mi Along with our pho and eggrolls, we had ordered two pork banh mi's (Vietnamese sandwiches) for To-go. We had asked for extra vegetables on both of them. There were barely any when we got the sandwiches. It was literally a few carrot strips, two small cucumber slices, basil, and a single jalapeno. At other places, sandwiches were much well loaded with vegetables and toppings compared to the amount we had received, even when asking for extra. To make it worse, 60% of the sandwich was a thick and very dry bread. The meat tasted quite "fake."
Overview Pho was amazing, despite the fact the large we had paid extra for was the same size as the regular+limited toppings. Service could have gone smoother, but it wasn't a good experience. Eggrolls tasted fine, but again limited in toppings. Banh mi was quite a...
Read moreStay calm and Eat Pho': I have eaten here a handful of times. It is usually almost to it's full capacity every time I have visited. Price is uhhhh, a little pricey BUT it's higher quality food from here than something you can get at Panda Express or Terriyaki House and you get well sized portions. More bang for your buck.🤑 If you like soups and stews, steamed vegetables and whole, hearty, and meaty dishes that come with a spicy kick with a side of yummy noodles then this is your place to eat. I usually get the beef with broccoli, Orange Chicken, Sweet and sour pork, sticky white rice and beef and chicken Pho' for my family. The ONLY thing I have to complain about is the difference in size between ordering in and ordering "to go" When you order in restaurant the portions are very generous, like you would be able to share your plate with 1 to 2 other people but when your ordering "to go" it's like your ordering for just one person eating. 😬 The soups are HUGE when you order in the restaurant. You get all of these different ingredients included to add to the broth on the side. I ordered out twice and both times the portion of the broth was so small. I would say the size of the container for broth was like 20 oz.? Maybe less? 🤔 Dining in it has to be at least , my guess would be 32 oz of broth not including all the extras like the meat, veggies, noodles and herbs. My favorite item there is the BOBA beverages. There are so many different kinds it's difficult to make a choice at times. There's Mango, Strawberry, Melon, Vanilla, Chai, Green Tea, Mocha. Lol. I get the Mocha a lot. 😋 Place is clean when you walk in and service is good. Bathroom is clean and away from the...
Read moreFirst off, I am a big fan of Asian cuisine. What led me to discovering this hidden establishment, was my craving for “Pho”. Being from the Bay Area, there are many restaurants which serve Pho. I happened to look up restaurants near me, and “Pho Dera” happened to pop up. My first two visits, I always ordered the rare steak beef pho. The broth is amazing, as well as the ingredients in it. On my third visit, I decided to try the #53 that I saw a picture of on the wall. The spicy beef plate is amazing. Marinated beef, bell peppers, onions, and pepper with rice and an egg roll. You have the option to choose: steamed rice, fried rice, or chow mein. The white rice pairs well, as I can mix it in with the sauce from the main entree. While the restaurant is known for its Pho & Boba drinks, they have a nice sized menu. There are many food items to choose from, and aren’t limited to Vietnamese cuisine. The restaurant is clean, and the service is always great. Please call them, and don’t always go by the internet in regards to hours of operation. I spoke to the owner, and let him know that certain internet listings show his restaurant as being closed, when it’s actually open. Due to Covid19 restrictions, all orders are for take-out only...
