We stayed in Madera for a family vacation and on a recommendation from the front desk staff of our hotel they recommended The Tap House. It was walking distance from our hotel so we walked to The Tap House that afternoon.
We stayed in Madera four nights and we ate at The Tap House twice. The staff was so polite, accommodating and friendly towards us. They were busy but the waitress and staff easily maintained our food and drink demands.
There is something for everyone here. My children gorged on pizza, pretzel pizza bites, French fries and mozzarella sticks. My wife ate their salads and I had the chicken parmesan sandwich. Everything was great and reasonably priced. We pay more for our mozzarella sticks in Wisconsin and receive fewer mozzarella sticks so we were pleasantly surprised at both the price and the order size.
My children played with Midnight, the black cat that sits out front of the restaurant. Every time we drove by the restaurant our kids waved to Midnight.
The pretzel pizza bites left us wanting more but sadly we had to leave the area. We waved goodbye to Midnight and the great food at The Tap House. We will definitely return to The Tap House if we are in...
Read moreThe food is good. I was enjoying it, until the customer service messed up my experience, and soured up my taste. The vibe here was off when I went twice. Each time I was served by female bartenders who seem to only cater to the young or hip looking crowd. I went alone for a drink and an appetizer and they made me feel unwelcome. I almost felt like I was back in high school. The bartenders hardly looked at me or showed any interest in serving me and it wasn’t busy both times. I felt like they were treating me, the way popular snobby girls in high school treat the less popular kids, by looking down their noses at them or being fake nice to them, just to get them to do their homework. All I ask is for some good customer service with a formal greeting and a smile, but they wouldn’t even make eye contact with me and practically threw the plate of food at me as they walked by in a hurry trying to get back to flirting with the other customers who they apparently are cool with. If they had shown just basic customer service skills to me they could have earned a new regular and I would have brought all my friends over multiple times. I won’t be coming back...
Read moreThis place is a great find in the central valley. They have a regular beer list, and rotating beer list. There were some really delicious beers on tap. We were really impressed with the Tioga-sequioa Half Dome beer, it was absolutely delicious. The staff was efficient and welcoming; Kristen was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. As for food, they have daily specials as well as a regular menu. I had the spicy chicken sliders special. Quite spicy and delicious. The calzone was well made, stuffed full of meats asks cheese, and the chicken parmesan sandwich was perfection (great marinara). We also indulged in the bacon cheese fries- highly recommended. Please stop here if you're driving through, and if you live in this town, I kinda envy you. We stopped for lunch on a road trip, and we did not really rush out. So many roadside stops are mediocre, at best, but this place is fantastic. We will plan our future stops here when we are traveling to southern California. And I really have come back for the pretzel bites, as we didn't get...
