A gal named Olga was our server and we had the best service. She was professional, polite, friendly, smiled while serving us. This really stood out to us for she was the only waitress serving customers, the other waitresses (a few of them) were busy with other work. When I went to the ladies room I asked (the seem to be head waitress) on duty if management was aware that (only one waitress) is waiting on all the tables 9-10? She replied, yes, that is how we do it here. Management is aware. Olga never complained and did a wonderful job but I wonder if management really knows for no corporate headquarters of IHOP would approve of paying 3-4 waitresses on duty and yet only one does all the waitressing. It not only compromises the service but the entire experience. But that's what led me to write this review on Olga for she really stood out to us, and her service was impeccable regardless of how many tablets they gave her. She seem to handle the pressure very well. Another waitress was pretty rude to her in front of customers it was just flat out unbelievable! But again Olga let it roll off her back and continued to serve ALL the tables. Customers from the other tables next to us noticed her great job too. Read moreWe can all agree that durin the last 2 years people have not received the sort of service we as patrons expect when dining in either fine or local chain restaurants. After 2 years of raveling and eating at various restaurants ranging from 3, 4 and 5 stars. We stopped at IHOP in Madera on January 6, 2022. We were on our way to Merced and initially we were going to stop at Starbucks for coffee, instead, decided to stop for breakfast. We entered the restaurant and were promptly greeted by the most kind and sweet hostes followed by the same caring service we received from our waitress. I wish I could recall her name because the service was exceptional, perhaps because we were so surprised by how well staff treated is and how mind blowing that was, that it did not phase us to remember her name. I am so upset over that because she and the other staff deserve special recognition. We were not the only patrons in the restaurant who were received and served this way. Throughout our dining experience we noticed everyone who was already there before us and everyone entering the restaurants was given the same service. Read moreMe and my boyfriend went today around 6:30pm, nobody eating there, only us. We ordered our food and were told there wasn’t many items from the menu. We were fine with that considering we went in the afternoon so we ordered something else. Our food came, my waffles from my chicken and waffles were hard and too crispy. We kept an open mind considering it was late in the day. My boyfriends burger had everything on it considering he told them no vegetables just plain. Once we were finished we were ready to pay all waitresses were gone and talking with other staff. We stood next to the register and she finally came and took my boyfriends card. Then we waited 10 minutes or so because the waitress was just talking and talking with a cook right in front of us and once she noticed we were waiting asked “was there a problem” yeah my boyfriend said you still have my card. There was nobody in the restaurant so she wasn’t busy. She began to say she didn’t remember us handing it to her but finally she actually charged us. Completely unprofessional and forgetful....
