Ashley's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Madison

Visited on a brutally hot day and the line was very long. Surprisingly it moved very quickly with only 3 people working the counter. The ice cream is creamy but not heavy. Lots of fun flavors. They are happy to let you try some flavors before ordering. I was glad I tried Bourbon Brown Sugar- sweet and totally delicious with a hint of bourbon, and I don’t care for bourbon. I ended up getting a regular cup of chocolate chocolate chip. Loaded with chips and perfect chocolate flavor. In a regular cup you can get 2 scoops and can choose 2 different flavors. So many toppings to choose from And the cakes looked fantastic. Several tables inside and you can sit and enjoy looking at all the fun pictures people have drawn to celebrate Ashley’s. Or sit outside- many benches, chairs and tables. Plenty of free street parking and there is a large lot behind the store....

There were way too many customers here (without masks on) and only one employee working the front. The only other employee was too busy making ice cream cake orders. On top of that, the employee making the ice cream cakes, was chewing gum and her ponytail kept sweeping into the ice cream. Gross. These employees need some more training and much more help! Finally, there were most definitely customers in there that were too young to have been vaccinated and yet they had no masks on. My family, friends, and I are HIGHLY disappointed at this place. We've been coming here for years and have never had such a bad experience. Please fix everything because we all won't be back...

Good ice cream and my friend's sunday was made well. They had sugar free, but it was fat free too. Ice cream needs to have fat in the milk or cream otherwise it makes it very bland. Diabetics don't necessarily need fat free, just sugar free. They also had only vanilla or vanilla with some cherries tossed in. It was good with the cherries. Counter help just never cracked a smile and was not friendly at all. She seemed a little goth and didn't seem to want to be there. Starts the customer experience a little off kilter. Plenty of seating and parking behind or in the main street. Good family stop or for just passing through the area...
