La Playita Tacos y Mariscos — Restaurant in Madison

So we were so excited to try this new place out, because the reviews were really good. When we got there the atmosphere was good a little small, but clean and nice. Once we here sitted everything went downhill. While ordering my food it the menu gave me an option to add more seafood to my plate, the server said that she wasn't sure if they could do that so they would go and check which was fine but then why advertise that on your menu? So $15 for a crab leg cluster which I was okay with. But then we got our food and I asked the server for forks and ketchup, she said ok and walked away! Next time I saw her she was taking a order at another table and never came back to our table until she gave us the bill. So I had to get up and take silverware from the table next to us, and a container of ketchup from a different table! So my husband's food looked like they boiled his seafood and then threw it on his plate with some of the boiling water, and then just covered it up with salsa on top of it! My shrimp for my order was not cleaned/deveined, I know some restaurants don't clean there shrimp so no big deal, so I decided to clean all of my shrimp before I ate them so I wasn't cleaning them one at a time. Well I proceeded to do this one of the cooks and my waitress we're pointing and laughing at me! At this point I was a little upset. Then the waitress who hasn't came to our table comes to just drop off the bill and then ask if we're okay and takes our plates! I gave her my credit card for the payment, she comes back with my copy and theirs so that I can leave a tip and sign. Before I could leave a tip the server already put in what she wanted me to pay her. The suggested tip from her was almost $20. Which she had already ring in for herself! So because of her service I did not agree with a $20 tip so I gave her a $12.85 tip what she's lucky she even got that, so I signed my receipt and we left. So a couple days later I get a bank statement for more money than what was even on the receipt and that I agreed to pay, meaning she was taking extra money from me for herself that was not listed on my receipt. So I called the store / restaurant to talk to the manager or the owner I was put on hold for about 15 minutes and then hung up on, I called back and nobody will answer. So all this nightmare I had to get my bank involved for fraud. So whoever goes in eats there you better watch out your server isn't trying to steal money from you or sneaking in extra fees like $5...

This is my second visit to LA Playitas in this week. They just had their grand opening this week. Both times the service has been great!! The servers have been friendly and fast. The food has been awesome.

My first time here I had the Rellena Pina. Seafood and cheese in half of a pineapple. It was cooked perfect and had great flavor and textures. I would definitely order it again.

My second visit I had the Roger's Enchiladas. Three chicken enchiladas with poblano peppers. Again the meal hit the spot. Well cooked, great flavors and the texture of the crunch of the poblano peppers made this a great meal.

Both times the wife and I also had the ceviche, which also was excellent.

Also, when you come here to eat, try the "agua jaimica". It is a cold sweet tea made from hibiscus flowers. Great flavor and perfect amount of sweetness.

I have definitely found my new restaurant for Mexican food. I will definitely be...

I just had an amazing dining experience at la playita tacos and mariscos ! The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was fun. But the real highlight was the food - I ordered the michelada, tacos, and ceviche, and, it was delicious!

The michelada was expertly crafted, with just the right balance of spices and flavors. The tacos were packed with tender, juicy meat and fresh veggies, and the ceviche was incredibly fresh and tangy. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, and the portions were generous to say the least.

The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. I'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend la playita tacos and mariscos to anyone looking for a delicious meal!
