Pizza Bruta: A Slice of Italy in Every Bite If you’re searching for an authentic, mouthwatering pizza experience, look no further than Pizza Bruta. The flavor here is nothing short of exceptional, capturing the essence of traditional Neapolitan pizza in a way few places outside of Italy can. From the first bite, you’ll notice that every ingredient stands out — fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully selected. It’s as if you’re transported straight to the streets of Napoli. The crust is perfectly charred and airy, the sauce bursts with rich tomato flavor, and the toppings are high quality and balanced with precision. What truly sets Pizza Bruta apart is the dedication behind each pie. The owner has honed his craft under some of the world’s finest pizzaioli, and that expertise shines through in every slice. This isn’t just pizza; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a pizza purist or a casual diner, Pizza Bruta is a must-visit destination for an exceptional pizza that respects tradition while delighting your taste buds. Authentic, flavorful, and crafted with passion — Pizza Bruta delivers in every way.

I went to Pizza Brutta on a friday night for the first time and the atmosphere was electric and the pizza was amazing. While it was busy, the storefront was full of life. You can see the pizzas being made and fired and all the workers busying about. Sure, I had to wait maybe 20-30 minutes for a single pizza but it was a 70 degree Friday night in March. Everyone was out. I ordered the carbonara pizza and it was spicy and salty and the bacon was thick and the onions added needed contrast. I hate to mention this but Novanta pizza on University is a better pizza. While Pizza Brutta does everything great Novanta is the best. Their crust is lighter, the sauce is more acidic and flavorful, and the cheese is fresher and more pronounced - and it is cheaper. However, Pizza Brutta is only slightly behind in all of these categories and has better toppings and more options. The pizza was less perfect and far more fun and interesting. Get something unique here and you will not be disappointed.

Neopolitan pizzas cooked in minutes and eaten almost as fast. Pizza Brutta is a Monroe Street institution. They offer a long list of pizzas, all made using local ingredients to craft these special pizzas. Notably the tomatoes are not local and come from grown in the volcanic soils of Mt.Visuvio just outside Naples. The mozzarella is handmade in the store using fresh Wisconsin curds. My personal favorites are: Diavola, Carbonara, Americano, Cheesy Garlic Bread. You can watch as your pizza is lovingly crafted before being blasted by 900 degree heat for 90 seconds. In the end, you get to cherish the perfectly cooked dough and outstanding ingredients. Pizza Brutta is best enjoyed in groups where you swap slices and have a community garlic bread in the center. The pizza is great as takeout and the pickup process is simple. In the summer they have a back patio for you to enjoy your food in the open air. They have a mobile pizza oven that you can find at local events.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!

I was in Madison for a day and found this place looking for a decent Neapolitan style pizza. The website shouted take aways, and since that was convenient for me, that's what I ordered. Should have been simple enough, except they did'nt make it easy, nor did they make it pleasant.

Having ordered a pie over the phone, and since parking was scarce, my co-passenger was handed $20 and sent to retrieve our pizza while we sat in the car...so far, so simple.

Upon arrival in the pizza parlour, my friend was told she could have the pizza immediately only if she paid with a card, else, she would need to wait if she intended to pay in cash. Quite possible the stupidest policy I have ever heard of! They refused to hear her out as she had left her wallet in the vehicle and our pie just sat there getting cold while they let 12 other pies go before. Absolutely ridiculous, and practically sadistic policy.

I wont be back in Madison for a while, but I intend to go in there on my return and ask for a refund, and a sincere apology or reasonable explanation. Pathetic and petty service, deserving of far more colorful language than in...

Catering review:

My husband and I wanted something unique but true to us for dinner at our wedding reception. We always joked we would love to have food trucks or pizza or something "fun." One day on a whim, I came across Pizza Brutta's catering and reached out to inquire. They ended up catering our reception (200 guests) and truly exceeded all of our expectations!

It was truly a fun experience as well! They brought their mobile wood-fire pizza oven and prepped and made the pizzas right on sight. It was neat to see the process! We applaud the cooks as well - they were such an efficient, hard working team! Things were "fired up" and prepped in no time!

We especially loved that things were served family style! Each table received a plate of fresh bruschetta, Cesar salads, and 3 to 4 pizzas. The staff and “runners” were so attentive to peoples needs and were able to bring extras to tables that were interested. They were also very accommodating for our gluten free and dairy free guests. It was such a fun and unique experience I am so appreciative for the opportunity to work with them for such a special...
