Grace in Action
I want to recognize the incredible turnaround happening at Captain Dâs in Madisonville, KY , thanks to the leadership of Manager Don.
There was a time when the food and service had declined, and many longtime customers had stopped coming. But now? The difference is undeniable. The restaurant is rebounding, the atmosphere is more welcoming, and people are returningâbecause someone cared enough to lead with excellence.
Don has brought consistency, kindness, and a sense of pride back into this location. That kind of change doesnât happen by accidentâit takes vision, commitment, and heart.
Thank you, Don, and the entire Captain Dâs team, for showing what Grace in Action looks like in the world of seafood and service. Keep up the great workâyouâre making a difference.

Read moreI ate here today because I haven't been since I was a teen and was craving some seafood. Decided to go through drive-thru. The person on the speaker seemed really impatient. When I ordered the fish and fry for $5.99 and asked for coleslaw, she replied, "We don't have coleslaw!" Yet, 50 pics of it all over the menu board. đ I added a medium diet dr pepper and key lime pie. My total was over $18! At the window, the employee never greeted or anything, handed my bag and closed the window. As I pull around, realized my pie wasn't in the bag. My husband took my receipt and had to wait for awhile for them to get it. While he said the girl seemed apologetic, he could hear the banter about being short staffed, orders getting out of sequence and people blaming each other. He said they seemed very stressed to him and taking it out on customers. While I was craving food from there, I really wouldn't consider returning due to the whole bad...
Read morePrior to today I've had great experiences with Captain D's. I ordered creamy shrimp scampi for my son. When the employee was giving me the order, she opened the container and gave me a weird smile. Brushing the encounter off, I took the order home without checking it (an error on my part). His creamy shrimp scampi lacked cream (sauce). I called the restaurant (5x) to make them aware, the line was busy each attempt. I went back to Captain D's and asked for a replacement. The replacement had very little sauce, I request more and stated I would pay for the extra sauce. The employee who gave more sauce stated they aren't suppose to give more sauce because it's already portioned, but she went ahead and did it anyway.
My recommendation is don't order the creamy shrimp scampi or be prepared to get a lecture if you ask for...
