Service is really lacking here. We first ordered water and flights and even mentioned ordering multiple flights bc so many sounded good. We got our drinks and then an amazing soft pretzel. The beer cheese and the mustard were very good. My husbands bison and elk burger came out pretty quickly as we were finishing the pretzel, mine did not. A few mins later our server walked by and stated in passing “they are plating it right now”. Maybe 7 mins later someone brought out my Philly and was headed to the wrong section. At this point my husbands burger was gone and he was on the last of his mashed potatoes. The burger and philly were good, not great, but the sides were really tasty. Now remember back, we had already talked about a second flight. She dropped off the food and never offered more drinks. This surprised me bc server 101 is always offer more drinks, it increases check prices! And their beer is really good we would have ordered more for sure!! This whole time there is a couple who sat shortly after we did and as we got up to leave they still did not have DRINKS, they sat there at an empty table long enough for my husband to finish his food and then me to finish mine and still nothing. That is crazy lacking in service. My husband also took a picture to show how gross the bathroom was but I will spare you of that one, someone forgot to clean that i guess.

Really wanted to like this place. We had great service, but the food missed the mark. We came for drinks earlier in the day, and returned later for dinner as the menu sounded amazing. I ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye ( cooked medium ) with mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli & Dijon cilantro. When the steak came out, I was surprised to find that the steak was no more than 1/4" thick. Not surprisingly, the steak was well done. I hate to complain, but we did and the waitress took the steak back. Another one eventually came back (same thickness) and somehow it did have slight pink to it. Unfortunately, the steak was under seasoned and mostly fat - which is surprising for how thin it was. Also, there was barely any sauce included in the dish. Overall, a very bland and overpriced ($38!) meal. Originally, they were going to give us $10 off but they eventually took the whole meal off thanks to my wife. My wife ordered the Shrimp & Grits, but she believe she got polenta instead (or really overcooked grits!) As mentioned, the restaurant made things right. We had planned on returning to try other dishes in the following days, but unfortunately this experience turned us off. I can say that they had really good wings and decent beer.

We came to Maggie Valley to spend the weekend in the mountains and go for a few hikes. One of the days we came to this brewery - when we arrived we thought it was closed down for good, but it seems they have had some issue in their front with either water damage or something going on with the roof. Once we entered from the side, we were surprised what a nice space BearWaters has inside - plenty of different areas or zones for different ambiances. Staff were super nice, and helped us figure out what beer to order. All the beers we got were great, I especially liked the sour ones. We ended up getting fried pickles (which were AMAZING) and the wings were also awesome. Fries and burgers were great as well. We were very impressed with the quality of the food, you don’t always expect that from a brewery - not that it was upscale, but it was just delicious and well served and presented. I was very satisfied with the whole evening we spent at the brewery, and will recommend anyone come check them out! Just don’t ignore them if it seems closed from the front, they may still be doing repairs. Absolutely awesome place to eat, drink, and hang out!

I'm giving this place 2 stars because I'm trying to be generous and some of the food was okay, but we really did have a terrible experience this evening, and I really can't recommend this establishment to anyone. We were a party of eight. We went here to eat after tubing nearby. To start, this place is so COLD inside. Not really the type of environment you want after tubing. We thought about leaving and finding a different place to eat, but we had four hungry teenage boys with us so we decided to just keep our coats on and tough it out. We should have taken that as an omen and left. We were seated and as we ordered our food, we were informed that the food comes out of four different kitchens in the back and would probably come out at different times (strike two). We had already ordered drinks so we just hoped for the best and ordered. The sandwiches that two of the boys had ordered came out first. One was correct, but the other was covered in onions and peppers which he had asked to be left off. They took his sandwich back to correct it. In the meantime, a pizza and Flatbread came out. As they were being delivered, another server came out and brought a sandwich to the table next to us, stating "no onions and peppers" as he sat it down in front of one of the diners at that table. (That table had just ordered about five minutes previous.) We suspected that sandwich was supposed to come to our table, but didn't feel right yelling that out as the diner had taken it without question. We hunted for our waitress to ask her about it and when she came to our table, we told her we thought our sandwich had been delivered to the next table. She didn't apologize, but informed us that the kitchen was now out of beef to make that sandwich, and he would need to order something different. While he was looking at the menu, those of us who had ordered pizza decided to go ahead and start eating, as ours was getting cold. (We did offer to share it with him, but he said he'd wait) My adult son took a couple bites of his pizza and said that he was sure he just swallowed a hair. He said he could feel it in his mouth as he chewed the bite, but decided it was just better to swallow than to spit it out, as that would be disturbing for other diners to view, and he only had a cloth napkin to spit it into. Finally another server (not our waitness) brought out the sandwich our grandson's friend had ordered to replace the one that never made it to the table. At this point, everyone else had completed their meal. Our two grandson's had ordered salmon which came out after the pizzas. Add to everything else, the boys ordered trout dip as an appetizer, but we didn't receive appetizer plates until way after they'd finished the dip. A small thing, but, the problems were cumulative and excessive. When the waitress brought our bill, I did tell her that we were disappointed with the meal. She asked why, and I enumerated the things above. She didn't apologize, but said, "well, if you had told me there was a hair in the pizza, I would have taken it off the bill". I told her we didn't mention it because we certainly couldn't prove it, and were willing to let it go, but that I thought they might have made an adjustment on the bill forv the sandwich that had to be ordered twice, and didn't arrive until everyone else had finished their meal. She didn't offer to adjust the bill at that point either. I'm not sure who needs to get their act together at this establishment. It seems like it might be across the board, but I can promise you we won't be back to see if things improve. We spent $200, for an extremely disappointing experience. Don't make the choice we did. You...

We arrived at 630pm. After waiting in line to be seated, our party of 4 ordered, we were told some food may come out faster since they have 3 kitchens. The couple we were with ordered Philly cheese steaks and they got their meals within about 15 min. We had to sit and watch them eat. After about 20 min, I asked our server if she could check on our food. The server went to ask the chef. She came back and told me a 15 top ordered before us and the cook said we will just have to wait and there's nothing he can do. Maybe it will be 20 more min. Meanwhile the couple we came with were done eating. I had ordered the roast beef with carrots and mushrooms on mashed potatoes as listed on the menu. I got, get this, room temp roast beef no carrots no mushrooms. Clearly the ball was dropped! Why was the food we waited for an hour for barely warm! At this point I'd eat my arm, at least the roast beef had flavor. My husband's bison and elk burger had a big glob of blue cheese that he said was over powering and his burger was barely warm like it'd been sitting under a heat lamp forever. We waited another short eternity for the bill. When I let her know, our food arrived cold she offered to get the manager but it would be a wait. At this point, she already knew, after waiting an hour to get our food, waiting was the last thing I was willing to do. But she did take the time to not listen to my compliant, instead complained to me about the tablet she had to take orders on and not having the square, so she had to type credit card info in by hands. She complained to me! I did not stiff the tip. She got 20% on my just over $100 bill for 4. Tip #1 never complain to the customer. #2 offer something, grab a free appetizer, offer a discount on something. But throwing out the , it's gonna be a wait is a cop out. This was supposed to be my vacation and you made it unpleasant with excuses and your own complaints. Working in food service is tough, I was never unpleasant, I made a point to be understanding. After all, your bringing out food I'll be eating. Bottom line. Go here if you don't mind that they have 3 kitchens that push out food up to 1 hour apart. And be ready to wait...for everything! We expected a wait for a Saturday night when there's and event in town. But to get food so far apart is...

My family and I will never eat here again. We were seated right away, and the place was not busy at first. We ordered our drinks (Waters/Sweet Tea) and the pretzel appetizer because we wanted to order from the dinner menu and was told that did not start till five and it was 4:50. We got the pretzel and it was not bad, but I have had better. The server took forever to get us the dinner menus once 5:00 rolled around, but she had A LOT of tables inside and out while others just wondered around the place. We finally got her attention and got the menus. We placed our order for two fish and chips, a bison/elk burger, and a steak. The burger and steak came out and looked good and was not bad, but when the fish and chips came out it was a fish sandwich, and we asked the guy was this fish and chips and his answer was “yep” and proceeded back to the kitchen. We waited for about 20 minutes for our server before we stopped someone else and asked if that was fish and chips, and they said no. She said that she would go to the kitchen and expedite the fish and chips for us. Well, I do not call 30 minutes expedited at all. NO MANAGER came to our table to apologize for the mix-up or anything. We finally got what was supposed to be fish and chips and said there was a mix up in the kitchen. STILL NO MANAGER! The fish was not good at all and a little on the chewy side. Our server finally came over and said that she talked to the manager, and he said to give us a beer for our trouble. WE DON’T DRINK! The server said that she would comp the drinks……we had two sweet teas......REALLY. The manager should have been to our table and should have comp’d the fish and chips. If I were you, I would stay VERY CLEAR of this place. READ the 1-star reviews and that sums this place...
