Our Stay at the Four Seasons Inn was wonderful. Room was clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a creek running along the back with many of the rooms that have a shared balcony over the creek. Any moment we were in the room, we had the back door open with the screen door closed so we could hear the beautifully relaxing running water of the creek. It was so peaceful. We sat in the rocking chairs and enjoyed the sounds. I would definitely recommend this Inn and will hopefully be back. The Ski area is a few minutes away up the mountain. Maggie is a great location. You can head towards Bryson City for some nice trails and waterfalls. Asheville if you want larger city. Waynesville is a beautiful downtown area and where you need to look for evening meals that are later in the evening or simply larger selection of restaurants. Maggie Valley is great small town for a relaxing stay. No traffic and just a beautiful area.

This is a cozy, retro motel. You could also call it old and outdated. But it does have a lot of pros, like the peaceful rear deck/patio right beside the flowing river, the very reasonable pricing, and the very friendly staff. My room was also well cleaned and smelled fresh. The cons are what you’d expect from a motel; poor lighting, springy mattress, and a small tv. Above that though the sheets really need to be replaced, they had runs, almost rips with strings exposed from wear & tear. This was the case on both mattresses. Also, the continental breakfast was sad, even for a motel. They did not even have fruit available. All n all this place has charm, is welcoming, and has great value for the price. If you’re just passing through, I recommend staying here as I will be next time I’m in town for the day

I will start with Thelma. Service is everything. She is awesome. Our Thanksgiving stay and special needs were met with a smile!! Upon our arrival the room was ready and super clean..huge room. We are here for a week and do not feel cramped at all. The location is great. The far end of Maggie Valley is convenient to accessing the Blue Ridge Parkway and Cherokee. Having breakfast on the creek is fabulous. Mountains out front, out back. Just a great place and priced right. Not sure about the 2 star rating, maybe for price. The Hot tub is a nice bonus if you can get it!!

This place is the absolute worst. Pet-friendly? Not so much. I stayed here with my boyfriend and my dog for one night as we were in town for the first snow of the ski season. We came in around 9PM, checked in at the front desk (we reserved the place online on the drive up because it was marked as "pet-friendly"), let them know that we had our pup with us, and got the keys to our room. The next morning, we decide to extend our room for one more night and hang up the do not disturb sign because we are leaving our dog there while we ski. Prior to leaving to go ski, we take our dog out on a walk so he can take care of his business- we walk past the office- the office people see us- they see our dog- they know we have a dog. I get a call while at Cataloochee- lady asks why we haven't checked out yet. Explain to her, we had already spoken to someone about extending our stay. She replies: "You're staying in the room with the dog right?" I say, "Yes". She states: "Okay, we'll figure it out."

Later that night, not 20 minutes when we get back from skiing, we get a knock on our door. My boyfriend is fresh out of the shower and is in a towel. It is the owner/manager- foreign name, can't remember. He says, "This isn't a pet-friendly room, I'm charging you $200". The conversation continues for another 2 minutes or so and my boyfriend says, "Okay, let me put some clothes on and I'll meet you in the office."

My boyfriend puts some clothes on, walks over to the office- the owner/manager is not there. Disappears and is no where to be found. There is a different guy at the front desk. You can tell by the look on his face he is ashamed, doesn't even look us in the eye. He apologizes profusely and takes our payment.

At this point, we are beyond disgusted, we don't even stay the second night, and leave immediately after the interaction. At the end of the day, it isn't about the $200, it's the fact that the owner/manager will do anything for a buck, and then not even have the decency to show face. His business practices are completely immoral, unethical, and dishonest and I really hope that the behavior stops at us.

This place was mediocre otherwise. Good value for the price. I definitely would have given 4 or 5 stars like the others. However, if you take the time to read the other bad reviews- you'll notice a pattern. Scammy, scam, SCAM! Whether it's regarding pet-friendly, or smoking, or stealing pillows??? I highly recommend taking the time to read over the bad reviews. Additionally, if you do decide to stay here with your pet please make sure you have the owner/manager walk you to your room and specify that your room is indeed, a "pet-friendly" room. Never coming back.

Have already reported this business to the BBB and the Chamber...

Made advanced reservations to spend out Anniversary weekend in Maggie Valley, NC. Never having been here before, I went by what appeared to be okay ratings for this particular motel. In the reservation request, I asked that we not be placed near any children as we had 6 of our own and 7 grands and this was our first Anniversary that we had been able to be alone in 19 years, and would like to sleep in, as well as not have constant disruption during our time alone. Upon arrival, we received our room key and headed to the room only to find no heat on and it was freezing in there. We turned on the heating unit and only cold air permeated from the heater. We asked the guy at the front office on 11/14/14 and he came in and said give it time, and offered a space heater to help heat the room up. Okay, so we went to find a place to enjoy dinner together and came back about 3 hours later and although the freezing chill had dissipated some, it was still pretty uncomfortably cold in the room, and the space heater was ice cold as well. We made sure it was on and in a socket that supported a working lamp, but no change. Complained to the manager about still no heat and he took us two doors down where it was freezing again and the air coming out of that heater was also very cold. He told us that he wasn't playing this game with us, and that we had even wrote about children on our reservation and that our request was discrimination and that he ran a family place. I explained not discrimination, just wanted to enjoy our weekend in peace. He said we had to come back to the office as he was not playing games and was giving us our money back and we could go find another place to stay somewhere else. What an Anniversary gift that was. The gentleman whether the owner or manger or just employee was rude, uncaring, arrogant and obviously didn't want to be bothered with us inconveniencing him. I would never recommend this motel especially in the winter as the rooms are not preheated, knowing they have guests arriving and the heat there obviously did not work sufficiently and the guy working there, whoever he was, was unpleasant. Ended up at the Microtel, with Breakfast included (which we didn't take advantage of), just a couple blocks down and they were very pleasant, accommodating, and equally priced as the...

Prior to this review, I reached out to this business on Facebook, stating I had a poor experience and would like somebody to contact me so I didn’t have to write this review. Never happened, that was days ago. They don’t care about customers or customer service. I bet we get some generic response to this public post though.

We chose this location because it was “pet friendly”. Drove from Atlanta, told the employee at the desk we had a dog, rented a room for one night. The next morning we decide to extend our stay. Inform the employee at the front desk we will stay another night. Ask them not to clean the room because the dog will be inside while we are away. Hang do not disturb sign. Front desk employee: “no problem”.

Get a phone call while skiing asking why we haven’t checked out. Explain we talked to the front desk. They say “okay we will figure it out”.

Later that night, the manager (the person I told that morning that we were extending our stay and didn’t communicate to his staff until after the fact) knocks on the door. I had just gotten out of the shower and was wearing a towel. He says this isn’t a pet friendly room, I’m charging you $200. WHAT?!?!? I very clearly expressed we had a dog to the employee the night before! On top of that this place is advertised everywhere as dog friendly!

The following conversation was so rude and dishonest. Then when I went to the front office a couple minutes later he was nowhere to be found. He knew I would come after I put clothes on and left some pathetic thing for the poor guy at the front desk to say to me.

I deal ethically with people. I believe in exchanging value for value. This motel does not. It’s the most dishonest and unpleasant interaction I have ever had with a business.

It’s not about the money! It’s $200, whatever. It’s the overall dishonest nature of the interaction and the fact that nobody at this business cares. This business stole money from us. It doesn’t matter the amount.

P.S. they advertise both “hot tub” and “jacuzzi”online and on the street sign. There is no hot tub. A couple select rooms have bathtubs with jets. Just another example of the dishonest nature of this place.

Read the other bad reviews- we should’ve before deciding to stay. This isn’t the first time...
