Last came here about a year ago and my has it changed. The atmosphere is still the same, lots of sports on TV everywhere which is great. Pretty empty as they just opened. Dining room and bathrooms super clean.
I ordered the "House burger", Valley Burger, wife got the steak and cheese hoagie (notice I didn't say Philly Cheesesteak). I ordered my burger medium rare and it came well-done, not even a single speck of pink. I was pretty hungry so I didn't mind that much, until I bit in the burger and realized that there was no seasoning at all. I ordered with the assumption that they were going to put their own spin on the burger (which I'm always willing to try), and it was basically an overcooked, seasonless burger on a bun. The wife's hoagie barely had any steak on there. Not like you would be able to notice since it was covered with too much cheese. Usually that's a great thing, but when there's more cheese than meat...I mean come on.
Lastly, service was great except for the part where we weren't told that refills cost an extra $2.50. On coke and sweet tea. Really? Maybe I missed it on the menu and that's on me if I did, but who charges for refills anymore? That's as tasteless as my burger.
Needless to say, we probably won't be back here for awhile and definitely won't recommend to anyone...
Read moreDisclaimer: we went on superbowl Sunday so that is something to keep in mind. Another time may have been vastly different.
Service was good. Our server was Jose and he was very pleasant. They were very busy but he never made it seem like a trouble to be at our table.
The atmosphere aside from the super bowl was great. We really enjoyed that.
The food was really hit and miss. The kid's grilled cheese was the best thing ordered. The Cesar salad was okay. My husband ordered the turkey melt, which he said was fine, but the sweet potato fries were obviously overcooked - dry and hard. They did have fantastic pita chips and great mac & cheese. The wings, chips, and regular fries were all good. We also had one person order nachos but they didn't get the jalapenos until the chips were starting to get soggy. My husband did order a beer and that was good.
Overall, it was enjoyable, but I'm not sure we would go again unless there was a particular dish we found to love and go for often. If pita chips and mac and cheese made a meal, we'd be set. :) But this particular time more than half of my party left very disappointed with their meals.
I could probably live off the pita...
Read moreI can not say enough good things about the food here. We ordered the appetizer combo with bacon cheese fries, fried mushrooms and chicken tenders (the fries had no grease under them which made them soooo much better) the batter the fried food was fried in was homemade and delicious. It was so good infact, it Didnt even need dipping sauce. The main course was the homemade chili bowl with grilled cheese and the turkey club with sweet potato fries. The chili was great. The grilled cheese had a foot long cheese stretch and was to die for. Then my wife had the sandwich and sweet potato fries which was hands down the absolute best sweet potato fries her and I have ever had. The service and cleanliness was 100% as well. We will DEFINITELY return to eat here again and will recommend Valley Tavern to anyone who asks. Keep up the great work guys and ladies. We appreciate your hard work...
