8 Dec: my yesterday’s experience at taco maya is making me change the rating due to their ridiculous customer service. We ordered a takeaway and they dis not pack all the contents of the order. When i called to complain they simply denied and said that they packed the tortillas and other stuff. After explaining them again and again they accepted and said you can have the left out items next time. Least interested in empathizing or offering to deliver the remaining order. They kept on keeping me on hold and hung up without any answer. When I insisted to talk to their manager the lady took my number and said that she will make sure the manager calls me back but never called back. This is my worst customer service experience. They are least interested in making the consumers happy.
Finally my search for good veggie tacos ended here. They have amazing options for vegetarians. Paneer taco was amazing it is a perfect place to try. they have paneer quesadilla as well. I am fascinated and feeling special knowing they have so many choices for vegetarians. Just loved the place We also tried their fried ice cream, it was great too Looking forward for my next visit to try their FLAN (it was unavailable today) They serve complimentary chips and salsa (you can choose your favorite from their salsa bar which has 6 options) Please do try...
Read moreFood: 5/5 The cooks in the back, extremely hard working, talented, and quick! Will absolutely look forward to ordering these gentleman's food again.
Service: 0/5 Not the prettiest place inside, so I'm not too unhappy that I'll be ordering takeout anytime in the future.
Right from the start I had issues ordering. I understand diversity, but I could not understand even 10% of what she was saying. If I were a business owner, I'd want to know who's the face of my store and understand the lingo of a taco shop.
I ended up getting the taco dinner meal, and we had to go over several times which types of beans I wanted. Veryyyyyy big communication barrier. At a taco place, I'm used to Spanish speaking employees, I can speak Spanish, so was a bit caught off guard when I couldn't even hear through this particular accent mispronouncing most everything on the menu.
After we finally completed my order. I ate the FANTASTIC food. But my rice and beans never came out. After sending some work emails I got up to exit and mention the food for my "meal" never came out. The same girl up front (who at this time was done watching tik-toks on her phone) looks at me concerned and looked around as if I were lying. I told her not to worry about it, can I somehow get it added next time I come in.
She started talking over me, disregarded anything I said. And told me to wait another 5 minutes. I told her 3-5 times I had no time and had to leave now for a meeting. I ended up walking out the door. For this sole reason, I will never dine in again. It's a shame that theres such talent in the kitchen, and it only takes one person like that to ruin an otherwise amazing experience. I am assuming she's the owners...
Read moreHorrifying Experience - Avoid Taco Maya on Golf Road
I had a truly horrifying experience at Taco Maya on Golf Road in Niles, IL, that left me in physical pain and completely disgusted. I ordered steak nachos and a Korean taco with a watermelon mint margarita for dine-in around 3:35 PM. As I was eating the nachos, I felt something sharp in my throat. At first, I thought it was a tortilla chip, but it wouldn’t move, and the pain only got worse. Then I started tasting blood. Panicked, I rushed to the bathroom but had to use the men’s since the women’s was locked. After making myself vomit multiple times, I finally dislodged a sharp, wood-like object from my throat, which cut my tongue on the way out.
When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they dismissed my concerns, claiming it was something that happened with the meat. They handled the situation without any regard for hygiene—one of the cooks even continued preparing food without changing gloves after inspecting the object I vomited up. The staff’s response? They offered me a soda as compensation. Unbelievable.
I left with a bleeding throat, and as someone on blood thinners, I now need to visit the ER due to the injury. The complete lack of care, hygiene, and basic human decency from the staff at Taco Maya is appalling. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. This experience was traumatic, and the staff’s behavior was...
