Read some reviews and decided to try it out. Went for a later dinner 845pm. Was asked if we had reservations for dinner?? But then seated In a semi empty room, of 10 to 11 tables total, 3 tables were with ppl. Was told that there was a $10 per person cover EVEN if only having dinner and not there for the salsa/event night. Due to checking out the place we ordered tacos, sushi, oysters and diff desserts. Steak tacos were bland and meat was rough, over cooked or left in a warmer too long. Oysters, as others have mentioned were smaller than expected. Sushi was fresh and very well balanced flavor. Dessert, nothing original or memorable. Service: lacking customer service and knowledge of their own menu. Bus boy was more knowledgeable of the food than our waitress. Drinks were a hit and miss, we purposely chose 3 different drinks to taste. Mojito was good. Dark seduction was also good. Agave Sunset was lacking flavor and perhaps prepared differently than advertised. Ambiance, was nice as it was mixed crowd of patrons there for the dancing and music. Paying a cover charge to have dinner is a bit tacky for my taste, perhaps have a better system for those patrons NOT partaking in...
Read moreOk. We promised our hostess, Estefani, I think? (my sincere apology if I didn't get the name correct) that I would write this because we really enjoyed our experience here. So, here it is.
This was our first time here on a rather wet Wednesday evening for an anniversary dinner. It being Wednesday evening, the place was somewhat slow. Perhaps that contributed, and we had a beautiful time. Everything we ordered was very good with the exception of one side dish we thought was undercooked, and they promptly took it off of our bill, so no problem. We had oysters (very good and fresh), shrimp tempura maki (which was surprisingly simple but delicious), Pan Roast Kettle Pot and Scallops and Chorizo which were both very good. We were impressed with the food as we have not heard of this restaurant before.
But really, the best part of our dinner was attentive, considerate and pleasant service from Estefani. She made sure everything was perfect for us. We really appreciated it.
The restaurant is decorated in somewhat modern funky but tastefully artsy.
Overall, it was an excellent...
Read moreSorry Ostras. We love to support local, but this was a miss for us. We went for happy hour. Small bites were just that, super small, but expensive, especially for a happy hour (see pic, $4.50 for one steak taco). They also proposed to charge $2 to add sour cream, $2 for cheese and $2.99 for guacamole. Timing on the food was way off. Three of us ordered at the same time. Taco came out first in good time, two other appetizers came out 10-15 mins later. 4th appetizer came out almost 50 minutes after we ordered. Last was a request to see if they had GF options. The bartender said she didn’t know. I told her we might want to come back the next day with a friend who has gluten issues, she just walked away vs asking someone who might know. Not good. Off there a bright spot, the place looked great, but failed on everything else. I would drive the 1/4 mile north on Mannheim to Guzman y...
