Vegetarian review: Straight-up, this place is better than Thai Thai (absolutely tasteless food overflowing with coconut milk) and Thai Shangri-la (IMO) which is low on the flavor bar for the same dish. That being said, the young guy that mans the store has a flattering sense of what is spicy for his Thai restaurant. If you are used to eating Fire Sauce at Taco Bell, the number two spice level at Bangkok Bistro Thai Eatery is below it. I imagine spice level number 3 is probably more around it. I ordered a Thai basil dish with vegetables and fried tofu. Overall, I would say the dish beat the other remaining Thai restaurants in this general area, but on its own it didn't taste much like Thai basil. It seemed like they used salt to cover the lack of overall flavor so be prepared for that. Lastly, this place is expensive. Very expensive for the quantity of food in the quality of skill in cooking it that you receive at the end. $17 for a smaller than usual size container was a bit too much to charge for. Even the dry red chili that the game on the side is not typically Thai spicy level. So if you like your food with more heat than you may want to ask for extra red chili powder.

Bangkok Bistro, makes me rethink what new Jersey has to offer when it comes to thai food. Too many great things to say about this spot. The atmosphere is a very comfortable place and has a great feel, with playful jazz style music in the background. The relaxing decor feels homely and just right. We tried one of their chef specials that we didn't see on their online menu (soft shell crab) and it completely outdid our expectations, from taste to portions and presentation. We can't wait to try the other specials! I usually get my usual pad see ew and red curry but decided to try something new (curry with tofu). The Tofu texture was perfect to my liking (not too soft, not too hard) and happy with the choice, wasn't sweet like the usual red curry, and i appreciated the curry savory flavor. The staff was very pleasant and kind, can't make any complaints Overall definitely adding this place as my top 3 go to thai spots.

I went here for the first time with family. The restaurant does a significant takeout business so while the restaurant was not crowded, the food felt fresh. There was enough food in one entree to have leftovers for lunch. The see eww was very tasty, but note as per the description that it is very sweet. Next time I will try the kee mao. The green curry was quite creamy and spicy. The seasoning of the Thai basil was a highlight. A few people had pad Thai with mixed reviews. My family either loved it or did not like it. I prefer flat rice noodles that feel more fried and less coated in sauce. It would be nice if there were paper towels in the bathrooms so people aren’t locking the door with dirty hands and opening the door with clean hands. The staff were very nice.

I go to the place all the time and I'm really impressed on how the wait staff works. They're the kids of the owner and the restaurant is family owned. This time around I was very upset on fees they charged me for a group of 7 people. Don't get me wrong the food is great but charging $21 for a credit charge service fee is ridiculous on a $200 check. They charge the fee even though we were going to pay cash for the gratuity they put on the bill. After asking what the fee for the credit card was and telling them we are paying the gratuity in cash they took off $4 which made no sense. Besides that they decided to charge the gratuity after tax. I've been a waiter/bartender early in my life and I understand the service industry. When you get a large party it's tough. I understand that but a party of 7 isn't that bad. Putting plates, water, utensils napkins and all our food at one end of the table is ridiculous. We had to pass everything down to each other. After last night experience I think this might be the last time I will be going here. I told them about the fees and the gratuity and told them the calculations were extremely off. Paid an extra $70 to eat. I'm sure I'll find another thai...
