Coal Fired Pizza — Restaurant in Manalapan Township

I've been going here since I was very young and it was always my favorite pizza place. The atmosphere was always amazing seeing all the NY things on the wall with the mood lighting, the super friendly staff, and of course the BEST pizza ever. Even my family and friends all loved this place. The waitresses who helped me the last time I went inside, was very nice as well as the rest of the staff. The pizza is amazing: as I told you earlier it was my favorite pizza place EVER and I mean that. It is still has that amazing coal fried taste and dough, and the same cheese likewise. The only thing that has changed is the sauce and that REALLY disappointed me. I don't know at which point they switched the sauce (probably when switching owners); however, the sauce just tastes like every other pizza place now. It's disappointing and really ruins the pizza all together. Their sauce used to be so good. I don't know if changing the sauce was to save on money; however, it is 100% different. When you eat it, it's like "Oh this is so good the dough and the cheese," and then the sauce just hits you and it's just what happened: this isn't great. Honestly, if you are a new customer, you'd probably not even notice, but if you were an veteran customer, you'd understand. I still come here occasionally hoping the pizza would still be the best pizza I once knew, but it just never was the same. If they ever went back I'd be so happy. Still a great place to go to, and I'd be happy to continue...

I ordered a Ceaser Salad and wings from them for the first time EVER! however, as I'm eating my salad I see this fly. Okay yes I got grossed out but it happens! I called the store to speak with the manager to make them aware they said stated the manager has stepped out but will be back in 5 mins. I called back in 10 mins they stated they will be call ME back. I waited an hour and no call. I called them back and then all of a sudden a gentleman by the name of Al came on the phone he first stated he wasn't a manager then by the end of the convo he was. He gave me a very hard time regarding this salad. Pretty much like I put the damn fly there. I didn't care about getting a new salad just wanted better customer service and at least refund me the amount. He stated bc I did it through grub hub I will have to call them. I called them and grub hub had to call them 4 times until someone finally picked up ( also this Al gentleman called my job asking if I called grub hub and when I said I'm on hold with them now he hung up on me) so finally I got back on the line with grub hub and told them to call the store. Finally they spoke with Al and he told them ONLY REFUND THE SALAD NOTHING ELSE. Well yes I got my $9.00 back ( the money wasn't the issue) but NEVER...

Absolutely disappointing. My boyfriend raved about how great the food was so we came here. The first time I came, I thought it was super overpriced for some pizza but it tasted pretty good. Then we came for the 2nd time and we drove all the way from Hamilton so we wanted to call on the way. Number didn't even ring. I tried 3 times still no ring. I decided then to place an order on their website through Seamless. So we finally got there and my boyfriend went in quickly while I waited in the car thinking it shouldn't be too much of a wait considering I placed an order ahead of time. Unfortunately I was wrong. We waited almost 45 minutes just to get this food. At first they said we never paid for it when my card was already charged. Then they took so long just to bring out the food. The wait was so long, the least they could've done was give us the food for free or offer us something. They didn't even put a fork and knife in my bag so how was I supposed to eat my Chicken Parmigiana? Also I never went to an Italian restaurant that didn't provide you bread with your meal. My boyfriend was also very displeased with his pizza. He was extremely disappointed. My Chicken Parmigiana was average and overall I think we would've been better off...
